    Disappointing Stay After Sri Lanka Trip

    After spending three weeks in Sri Lanka, this was the most disappointing place we stayed. The room was quite dirty, with spider webs on the ceiling, leaking toilet and shower, and we had to change the sheets because there was blood on them. Another major downside was the breakfast; they charged us double for an internal breakfast at 5000 Rupies without informing us beforehand. The international breakfast was just bread with butter and marmalade instead of the expected dhal and omelet. While the staff was friendly and did their best, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

    Great views, but needs updates

    This hotel is situated near a lovely paddy field with a mountain view, making it a pleasant spot for a stay. The price is reasonable, especially for the beautiful morning views...❤️ However, the quality of the accommodations has declined. Many furnishings in the hotel are quite old now. In room 104, the bathroom door doesn't close properly, and the towels are worn out and not very pleasant to use. Additionally, the hotel closes at 9:30 PM, which means guests can't go outside after that time.

    Clean Rooms, Overpriced Food

    The rooms are tidy and well-maintained, making them a good value for the price. However, I wouldn't suggest dining here as the food is quite pricey. There is an Indian restaurant nearby that offers a buffet for the same cost as a single meal at Spring View. They also lack flexibility in their pricing options.

    Stunning views and great experience

    The views of the mountains and rice fields are amazing. The hosts were incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome. The food and service were top-notch. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay here!

    Peaceful stay near Matale

    Nestled in a serene spot, this hotel is a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, just about 3 km from Matale town. It's highly recommended for anyone seeking a tranquil retreat. The location is convenient, close to attractions like Sera Ella, Bambarakiri Elka, Pitawala Pathana, and the picturesque Riverston. The hotel also offers arrangements for safari jeeps.

The views from the hotel are stunning, particularly in the morning when mist envelops the fields—it truly feels like a scene from a postcard. The rooms were tidy, cozy, and well-kept, equipped with all the essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Waking up to the sight of greenery and fresh air was a refreshing departure from the typical city commotion. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always eager to assist with anything we required. Their hospitality enhanced the experience significantly. I also valued the secure parking, which provided peace of mind since we traveled by car. Although the hotel is slightly removed from the main road, the tranquil environment more than compensates for it. In summary, Hotel Spring View is an excellent choice for anyone seeking relaxation in a natural setting. Whether you’re visiting solo, with a partner, or as a family, you’ll find it a rejuvenating escape. I would certainly return and highly recommend it to others heading to Matale!

    Great stay with excellent service

    We had a pleasant short stay at the hotel. The service was outstanding. Although the hotel isn't situated on the main road, it overlooks beautiful paddy fields, making it a fantastic location. It's conveniently close to various spice gardens and local spas, which is a great advantage for tourists.

    Disappointing Service Experience

    During our official trip to the Matale region, we needed a place to stay and chose this hotel, booking three rooms. The staff seemed friendly upon arrival. We reached the hotel around 5:30 p.m. and were asked if we wanted dinner, but the cleanliness of the place raised concerns. There were only three employees present, none of whom were in the kitchen, which led us to skip ordering food. Later, around 7:00 p.m., we inquired about using an outdoor bench for drinks. The staff responded somewhat rudely, saying we could only do so if we ordered food, which we declined. We ended up bringing our own supplies and setting up ourselves since the hotel didn’t provide even basic dining items like plates. While enjoying our drinks in the parking area, the garden lights went off around 9:40 p.m., and we were told the premises were closing, forcing us to use our phone flashlights to see. We cleaned up after ourselves and went to bed. Being considerate of the other guests, we kept our voices down as there was another group nearby. As someone who frequently travels for work and stays at various hotels, this was one of the most disappointing experiences regarding service and hospitality. We ended up spending the next night at a nearby hotel called Swiss Dale, which had much better service.
