The establishment is tidy, and our two triple rooms on the ground floor were well-maintained. They included air conditioning and a hot water shower, but unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi or TV available. The staff were friendly and communicated effectively. On the downside, I struggled to get a good night's sleep due to noise from outside the room, likely from the water motor. On the positive side, the price is fair given the amenities, and it’s within walking distance to a fuel station and various restaurants. If you plan to dine with them, be sure to inform them in advance.

We booked a family room for four last week and faced very poor customer service. The management used absurd reasoning regarding the swimming pool and room charges to justify their pricing. In addition to the room rate of 6,000, they charged 500 per hour for pool access per person. If we used the pool for two hours, the total would be 10,000 per day, which is excessive compared to other hotels where you can enjoy the pool all day for that price. There’s also no restaurant on-site, and they don’t even provide bed tea. They seem more focused on making money than on customer satisfaction. The only positive was that the room was very clean, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We reserved this hotel room for four family members. Unfortunately, there’s no lock on the bathroom, and the fan switch is broken, so we can’t adjust the speed. The room wasn’t clean, and they didn’t seem very concerned even after we asked them to change the bed sheets.

The service was extremely poor, with staff constantly interrupting. The restroom had no lock, and communication was non-existent. Customers were treated with bad manners, and the facilities were lacking compared to what was promised.

I had a fantastic time at The Palace Hotel in Matale. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well-kept. The air conditioning and hot water worked flawlessly, ensuring a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated that the hotel permits guests to bring in outside food without any extra fees, which is a significant advantage. The swimming pool was also well-maintained and clean, offering a refreshing experience. Overall, the stay was excellent for the cost, and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable option in Matale. I will definitely return!
