The room rates are fair, and the accommodations are tidy, with clean and pleasant bathrooms. Mr. Silva, who works here, is incredibly friendly and helpful. However, the food is a bit of a letdown; they offer chicken fried rice, which is a generous portion for one person, but the flavor doesn't quite match the price. I'm optimistic that they will make improvements, and I definitely recommend this place.

This spot is ideal for a family getaway, offering a lovely view from the balcony where you can gaze at the misty mountains. Overall, both the customer service and the food were outstanding.

I spent a couple of days at Matale Rest House while my kids participated in a tennis tournament. The location was perfect for us, right in the center of town and just a short walk to other amenities.

While traveling through Matale on our way to Kandy, our group started to feel hungry. Typically, the resthouses in Sri Lanka serve a satisfying rice and curry dish at a reasonable cost. However, this place didn’t have the rice and curry option but instead provided Chinese cuisine.

The service was subpar, and cleanliness definitely requires a lot of improvement. On the plus side, there is ample parking for customers. Unfortunately, the staff didn't seem to listen well, failing three times to deliver the dishes we ordered. Additionally, some of the tables and chairs were in partial disrepair, yet they were still being used for customers.

I had a pleasant experience with quick service. The food was fresh and served steaming hot, and the restaurant is open until midnight. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It's conveniently located right in the heart of town, just a stone's throw from Keels. I enjoyed dining on the balcony, which offered a beautiful view of the parks surrounded by tall trees. The room charges were extremely reasonable for what you get. I loved the comfort of the bed, with fluffy, spotless pillows and linens. The reception was quick to respond to our requests, and the staff was very courteous, addressing our needs promptly. The rooms were spacious, providing plenty of room to move around, unlike some cramped hotels. There are many scenic sitting areas available. The checkout times were negotiated in a very understanding manner. The only issue was a minor leak from a faucet in the washroom, but everything else was satisfactory. This will be my go-to place for future visits to Mathale.

We had a fantastic stay, thanks to Mr. Janaka and his team who provided excellent service. The restaurant remained open until midnight, and they offered delicious meals that could be customized upon request. Our rooms were roomy, featuring a private balcony with a meal setup. Prices were reasonable as well.
