This spot is conveniently located near the train and bus station, making it ideal for travelers using public transport. However, it's somewhat distant from the main ancient city, though there are always buses or tuk-tuks available. The manager was extremely helpful and nice. My only complaint is the absence of a common area for guests to relax and socialize.

Our experience at Thambara Resort was truly fantastic! The hospitality we encountered was remarkable, with the staff going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. Even with the heavy rain, they kindly came to pick us up from the train station, which we genuinely appreciated. The Sri Lankan breakfast was incredibly tasty – a real treat that highlighted authentic local flavors. The tea served alongside was just right, leaving us feeling refreshed and satisfied. The exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail made our visit very enjoyable. If you're in search of a warm, caring atmosphere with great food, I highly recommend Thambara Resort!

The restrooms are tidy and the venue is decent. The manager was quite welcoming. However, the rooms are absolutely swarming with countless mosquitoes 🦟. We barely got any sleep!

I strongly recommend this hotel for your stay in Polonnaruwa. The rooms are very clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The service provided by the owner and staff is excellent, and I felt completely safe during my visit. I highly endorse this hotel.

This is a great spot if you want to stay near the train station. The room was both cozy and tidy, plus the staff were exceptionally friendly. We ordered from OMC for delivery to the hotel, and it was both affordable and delicious. It's about an 800-1,000 baht ride to the ancient city via tuktuk from the hotel.

This is a fantastic spot to stay while exploring Polonnaruwa, Galviharaya, Somavathi, and Batticalo. It's conveniently located in the center of Kaduruwela town along the Colombo-Batticalo road. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well air-conditioned, each with its own attached bathroom. There's ample parking available for several vehicles, which is monitored by CCTV, adding to the sense of security. The owner, Mr. Priyantha, is an excellent host with extensive knowledge of nearly all the attractions along the Colombo-Batticalo route. Moreover, the staff is very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. Overall, this place offers great value and service for the price.
