I didn’t realize there was no air conditioning in the room until I checked in. Additionally, the management could have added more lighting towards the beach area, as it felt quite dull compared to nearby hotels. The Wi-Fi could use some improvement as well. The room itself was of average size, and the staff were polite and friendly. The location is right next to the railway track and the beach.

This quaint little hotel is ideal for a soothing vacation by the sea. The railway even adds to its charm, and the beach is beautiful and pristine. The staff are all friendly and inviting. The daily offerings of freshly caught fish are a real treat. It was difficult to depart from this wonderful spot!

This place has quickly become one of our favorites on our second visit. It’s a nice, clean hotel located just 50 meters from the beach, with a fantastic view from the balcony and terrace. The scenery reminds me of an English-style railway station, and yes, there's a train line nearby, but I actually think it adds to the charm of this cozy family-run establishment. There’s no pool, but honestly, who needs one when the lovely sandy beach is so close? The food is served at reasonable prices, making it a great spot for a stay.

There are two types of rooms available, and I strongly recommend booking the AC ones. I made the error of reserving the non-AC rooms while traveling with my family (a group of six). The non-AC rooms were quite unpleasant, with large flying cockroaches and mosquitoes present. The mosquito netting provided was dusty, as was the bedding. Without air conditioning, it was tough to get a good night's sleep, especially since we visited in April. The booking site displayed pictures of the rooms that seemed to be from when they were new, which felt misleading and led me to believe these non-AC rooms would be clean. The bathrooms were okay, but there wasn't much space to move around. In terms of value, it feels a bit overpriced for what we received. On the bright side, they offered a complimentary breakfast, which was generous and satisfying. I would rate the service a solid 5/5, as the staff were friendly and accommodating. I suspect that the positive reviews are likely referring to the sea-facing rooms.

Ocean View is truly fantastic, thanks to its closeness to the beautiful Bentota beaches and its easy access to local shops, restaurants, and travel options. The staff stands out with their impressive knowledge, helpfulness, and commitment to ensuring a pleasant stay. We spent 16 days here and are already planning our next visit. Located about 90 minutes south of Colombo airport, Galle is just a 45 to 50-minute train ride away. This has been one of the most genuine and welcoming holiday experiences I've ever had.

We visited Ocean View four years ago and came back this time with our kids. We really enjoy this spot because it has a magical feel, with direct access to the ocean. The railway is right there too, with trains passing through beautiful tropical scenery. We absolutely love it here. At breakfast, they surprised us with fruit. I mentioned my fondness for soursop, and the next morning, it was on my plate! <3 Regarding the internet, they placed a router directly in our room, so we had excellent connectivity for our entire stay. Housekeeping is only done upon request.
