    Fantastic stay in Ahungalla

    What a wonderful stay we had in Ahungalla! We spent a week here, and Barbara, the host and owner, was incredibly accommodating. She helped us arrange our travel plans for the following week around Sri Lanka as well as excursions in Ahungalla. The jungle huts are stunning; while they don’t have air conditioning, the sea breeze and ceiling fans keep things comfortable. They even provide a broom for those of us who dislike sandy floors! The food is absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed spring rolls every night and sampled both local and western dishes, all of which were delicious. This is definitely a place I would revisit. Barbara generously upgraded us from our original room to a deluxe hut since we were the only guests. Plus, she has the sweetest dogs on the property—we fell in love with Lucky Girl, Max, and Willie!

    Charming Stay with Great Food

    This place is genuinely delightful. I spent two nights in one of their cabanas, which has a glamping vibe. While the room included all the essentials, the absence of A/C made the humid nights a bit tough for sleeping. However, the lovely atmosphere, serene beach, and excellent service more than compensated for it! The food was outstanding, and Barbara, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful. I also enjoyed a fantastic massage at the spa. I especially adored the sweet dogs on the property—Max, Sugar, Willy, and Lucky Girl—who were such lovely companions during my visit. I value places that show compassion for animals, as it reflects their overall warmth and hospitality.

    Charming Beachside Retreat

    This is a lovely and secluded spot, offering a tranquil atmosphere right by the beach. The staff and owner are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always eager to meet our needs. Initially, we were unsure about making a reservation after seeing a previous negative review, but we can confidently say our experience was quite the opposite. We felt completely safe during our visit. The food is mostly outstanding, rated about 4.2/5. We enjoyed a delightful beetroot soup, a mango prawn curry, and some homemade mixed fruit jam while we were there. We highly recommend giving them a try. Special thanks to Barbara for making our stay so enjoyable.

    Great stay at Jungle Beach

    We really enjoyed our time at the Jungle Beach accommodation. It's a lovely spot right by the beach, serving delicious food with friendly service. Our host was very kind and assisted us whenever we had questions or issues. The atmosphere was familiar and peaceful, and I would recommend staying at Jungle Beach to anyone.

    Disappointing experience with misleading booking

    The establishment lacks a proper entrance. We made our reservation through Agoda, but the images shown were not at all representative of what we encountered. After checking in on 26/12/2025, we left immediately due to our dissatisfaction. Check-in was delayed by 30 minutes, and the room assigned to our group of three girls was located above the staff facilities, featuring a shared balcony where one of the doors didn’t even lock. This was not what we were led to expect. When I raised this issue with the management, they claimed they had no contract with Agoda and acknowledged that others had complained before. If that's the case, why continue accepting bookings and payments from clients, only to provide such poor service? We were utterly disappointed and feel like we lost our money. The cabins advertised here are not the same as the rooms; they are separate packages that aren't clearly communicated.

    Jungle Beach Camp in Ahungalla is a lovely and tranquil destination for relaxation. If you're seeking a serene retreat in nature, this place is an excellent option. Stunning Beachfront Setting Situated right on the beach, the camp offers breathtaking views of the sea from the cabanas. Watching the sunset and listening to the waves creates a serene, enchanting atmosphere. Distinctive Natural Cabana Experience The cabanas are constructed from coconut leaves, lending an eco-friendly and natural vibe to the area. At night, the soft lighting gives the whole place a warm and inviting feel, perfect for capturing memorable photos. Tasty Food The food is fresh and delicious, particularly the seafood. Dining with an ocean view enhances the experience tremendously. Overall Impression This spot is perfect for couples, friends, or families seeking a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's clean, peaceful, and beautifully designed – a highly recommended stop when visiting Ahungalla.

    Excellent Massage Experience

    I visited Dschungel Beach Camp for a massage, and it was truly enjoyable and relaxing. The ayurvedic oil massage provided a healing experience for both my body and mind. My therapist, Dhanushka, was very professional and knowledgeable about the body; it was honestly the best massage I've ever received. The prices are quite reasonable, making it definitely worth it. My friend also had a massage with the therapist Chandima, and she felt significantly better after her treatment.

    Great stay with minor issues

    Overall, it was a worthwhile experience. We stayed in two rooms: a cabana and the boat room. The boat room offers a lovely view of the sea, while the cabana does not. The boat room accommodates up to four people, and the cabana can fit three. The breakfast was impressive, featuring a nice variety of both Western and Sri Lankan options. However, one downside was that we had to frequently call the owner to have the gate opened. If she missed our call, we had to walk a distance to find a caretaker to assist us, and we were not given the caretakers' phone numbers nor was there a doorbell. Despite this, our overall experience was very good.
