Disappointing Service and Food
My friends and I visited this place for lunch and encountered extremely poor customer service. They attempted to deceive us with the bill, and I would advise against going there. The food lacked flavor, and the server didn’t even have a notepad. They took our orders verbally, but ended up bringing us the wrong dishes. In the end, we felt manipulated. This was the worst experience I've ever had!

Wonderful stay at Gnanam's Hotel
We had a fantastic experience at Gnanam's Hotel! The staff was welcoming and attentive, and our room was both clean and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the hotel’s ideal location for city exploration and the tasty meals. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back!

Convenient but Needs Maintenance
The hotel’s main perk is its prime location, just a short walk from the town bus stand and surrounded by various restaurants, shops, and amenities. The rates are quite affordable, and there's plenty of parking available. On the downside, the rooms are fairly basic and lack luxury, appearing somewhat neglected and not very clean. It's clear that the hotel needs to improve its maintenance and housekeeping practices. The outdoor resting and dining area has great potential but is also in need of better upkeep. Furthermore, the staff could use additional training to elevate the overall guest experience. In summary, this hotel works well if you're after a budget-friendly option and have modest expectations.

Beware of billing and service issues
Extremely disappointing experience. Watch out for billing here. The waiter service was subpar; they don't fulfill your requests and seem to manipulate the situation. The older waiter, who speaks Sinhala, was particularly unhelpful. Choose your dining options wisely and avoid this place.

Mixed Feelings About This Hotel
Breakfast options include a continental choice or a Sri Lankan one. The continental breakfast features an omelet, four slices of barely toasted white bread, and a tiny cup of tea. On the plus side, the location is a highlight. However, I had several issues with the hotel itself, which looks old and somewhat neglected. It gives off an abandoned vibe, with some areas appearing broken and dirty. While the overall cleanliness was decent, as my room was tidy and there were no cockroaches, contrary to what I've read in other reviews. The staff didn’t come across as genuinely friendly; their politeness felt forced. At check-in, the reception claimed we could pay by card, but when we tried the next day, they said that wasn't an option and questioned who had informed us. After we raised our concern, suddenly, card payment was available again. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Disappointing stay due to pests
This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The room was infested with mosquitoes, making it impossible to get any sleep. There were no mosquito nets provided. The air conditioning didn't do enough to cool the family room, and the bathrooms were not cleaned properly. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

We had a fantastic experience at Gnanam's Hotel! The team was welcoming and attentive, and our room was both clean and comfortable. We definitely recommend this hotel and can't wait to come back! I tried the Veg Meals, which were excellent! The price and charges were reasonable too.
