    Overpriced laundry service

    The laundry service here is extremely pricey and not worth it. We were billed 11,400 LKR (which is about 38 euros) for just a small bag containing 11 items, with each shirt costing €3. We should have inquired about the price in advance, but every other hotel we stayed at during our five weeks in Sri Lanka had much more reasonable rates. It's disappointing that this final experience has left a bit of a negative impression. While we’re excited to return to Sri Lanka someday, we definitely won’t be revisiting Amal Beach Hotel.

    Great Lunch Spot on Bentota Beach

    The Amal "Beach Bar" is our go-to spot for lunch on Bentota Beach. The food, whether Sri Lankan or Western, is top-notch. We're particularly fond of the devilled prawns. The cocktails are also impressive. The atmosphere is laid-back, making it a perfect place to unwind all afternoon. The staff are amazing.

    This hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Bentota, boasting a prime beach location. The staff are wonderful, particularly Chanuka (Vidu), who was incredibly attentive and communicated effortlessly, thanks to his strong English skills. A standout moment was our final night there…

    Great dining experience by the beach

    I recently enjoyed a visit to this lovely hotel and had a meal at their excellent restaurant. The food and service are genuinely outstanding! The setting is perfect, situated right by the beach, offering breathtaking views and a calm ambiance. I highly recommend it!

    Great experience with beautiful surroundings

    The staff was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful, featuring stunning landscapes. The food was quite good, and the rooms were excellent. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time.

    Wonderful service for a special occasion

    Amal Beach provided us with an amazing two-night stay. The service was exceptional, and the staff truly stood out during our visit to Sri Lanka. The hotel manager was incredibly accommodating; when I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday, he went out of his way to arrange a beautiful cake and decorations for our dinner. It really made our experience memorable—thank you!

    Poor communication from hotel staff

    I reached out to this hotel several times with a straightforward inquiry about a 4-night stay in February. I sent messages through both Agoda and Booking.com, but they never bothered to respond. Given that this place always seems to have availability, their lack of attention to potential customers comes off as quite unprofessional. Fortunately, we decided to spend a bit more for a better hotel instead.

    Lovely beachside dining experience

    We enjoyed sitting at the beachside restaurant during sunset, sipping on drinks and having dinner. The food was excellent, and the staff was very professional and accommodating. Although we were unsure because of some negative reviews, our experience turned out to be nearly flawless. We would definitely return!

    Great stay at Amal Beach

    I spent 15 days in Bentota, with 13 of those at Amal Beach. The staff were friendly, the food was good, and I encountered no issues during my stay. The team was accommodating and could handle whatever I needed. The restrooms and the overall place were clean, and there were comfortable seats available. A special shoutout to Ranga! It was refreshing to meet a Sinhalese who is eager to learn languages and improve daily. The manager was also very friendly.
