I didn’t notice there was no air conditioning in the room until after I checked in. Additionally, the management could have added more lighting towards the beach area, as it seemed quite dull compared to the neighboring hotels. The WiFi could have been improved as well. The room itself was of average size, and the staff were polite and friendly. It's situated next to the railway track and the beach.

This delightful little hotel is ideal for a peaceful getaway by the ocean. The nearby railway adds a unique charm, and the beach is beautiful and clean. The staff are all warm and inviting. The freshly caught fish served daily is a real treat. I found it difficult to depart from this lovely spot!

This is our second visit to this little favorite of ours. The hotel is clean and just 50 meters from the beach, offering a fantastic view from the balcony or terrace. It has a vibe reminiscent of an English railway station, and yes, there's a rail line nearby, but honestly, I find it adds to the charm of this small family-run place. While there’s no pool, who needs one when a beautiful sandy beach is right outside? The food is served at reasonable prices, making it a great spot to stay.

There are two types of rooms available, and I strongly recommend booking the AC ones. I unfortunately reserved the non-AC rooms while traveling with my family, a group of six. The experience was quite unpleasant. We dealt with large flying cockroaches and mosquitoes in the room, and the provided mosquito nets were quite dusty, along with the bedding. Without AC, it was tough to get a good night's sleep, especially since we visited in April. The booking site showcased pictures of the room when it was likely new, which felt misleading and led me to choose the non-AC option, expecting it to be clean. The bathrooms were decent, but there was very little space inside. Considering the facilities we received, it felt a bit overpriced. On the bright side, they offered a complimentary breakfast, which was a nice and satisfying touch. I would rate the service a solid 5/5; the staff were friendly and accommodating. I suspect the positive reviews are for the sea-facing rooms.

Ocean View is truly fantastic, thanks to its close proximity to the beautiful Bentota beaches and its access to local shops, eateries, and travel options. The staff impress with their knowledge, helpfulness, and dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay. We spent 16 days here and are already looking forward to coming back. Located about 90 minutes south of Colombo airport, Galle is only a 45 to 50-minute train ride away. This has been one of the most genuine and welcoming holiday experiences I've ever had.

We visited Ocean View four years ago and decided to return, this time bringing our kids along. This place has a fairytale-like atmosphere, and we love that it has direct access to the ocean. Plus, there's a train that passes by through the tropical scenery, which adds to the charm. During our stay, they surprised us with fruit at breakfast. I mentioned my fondness for soursop, and the next morning, it was on my plate! <3 The internet was also impressive; they provided a router right in our room, ensuring we had excellent connectivity throughout our visit. Housekeeping was available upon request.

What a wonderful find! My friend and I stayed here for two weeks, and the owner was incredibly kind. Each morning, we enjoyed fresh fruit alongside fresh juice, and we could choose between boiled or fried eggs or an omelette. The place has a quirky charm that adds to its appeal.
