Great Relaxation Spot in Anuradhapura
This hotel serves as a fantastic retreat while you discover the ancient wonders of Anuradhapura. Its serene and tranquil setting is ideal for those looking to relax after a day of exploring. The food is incredibly tasty and offers a nice range of both local and international options. The service is impressive, with staff members who are exceptionally friendly, courteous, and always willing to assist. The swimming pool is well-kept, spacious, and clean, which significantly enhances the overall experience. The rooms are comfortable, tidy, and thoughtfully arranged, contributing to a very enjoyable stay. The hotel grounds are peaceful and lush, fostering a soothing environment. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for families, couples, or solo adventurers. It's conveniently situated about 7 km from the Sri Maha Bodhi vehicle park, making it easy to reach all the key religious and historic locations in Anuradhapura.

Comfortable stay with great food
We only spent one night at the hotel but also dined at their restaurant. Our overall experience was quite positive: the room was tidy, cozy, and had everything we needed. The only minor drawback was that the rooms lack soundproofing, so we occasionally heard noise from neighboring rooms. The food was excellent, showcasing authentic Sri Lankan flavors. I want to highlight the service — the staff were fantastic, and Sahil stood out during dinner, addressing all our inquiries and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Overall, our time at Gamodh Citadel was pleasant and enjoyable. The value for money during the Christmas period was fair. We genuinely hope they maintain this high standard of service!

Wonderful stay at Gamodh Citadel
From the moment we made our reservation to our departure, our experience was very positive. The service provided by the staff was outstanding. They are a friendly and dedicated team who genuinely enjoy their work. The venue is family-friendly, with a well-maintained swimming pool. The shallow end is only 3 feet deep, which is safe for young children, and there is also a deeper section that is approximately 5 feet. The area around the pool is clean and free of any hazards. The rooms are generously sized and come equipped with all the necessary amenities. Notably, we found that they provide an abundance of toiletries compared to other hotels, eliminating the need to ask staff for more. The beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the spotless linens. For us, this was the highlight of our stay. The bathrooms were also kept dry and clean. The food was fantastic! We relished the authentic Sri Lankan dishes, which are free from MSG, allowing us to let our kids enjoy the meals without any concerns. Overall, our time at Gamodh Citadel was both comfortable and memorable. We sincerely hope they continue to grow and achieve great success in the future. We strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Anuradhapura.

Enjoyable stay with great service
I had a pleasant experience at Gamodh Citadel Anuradhapura and was genuinely satisfied with my stay. I booked a one-night bed and breakfast through bookings.com. Although the hotel isn’t located right in the city center, it’s just a 10-minute drive away, which I actually preferred. There’s ample parking available, accommodating more than five vehicles without any hassle. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the check-in process was swift. They assisted with our luggage and greeted us with a drink. Our room was ready upon arrival, as we had confirmed our check-in earlier that morning while leaving Colombo. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, equipped with all the expected amenities, and the bathroom was both clean and roomy. Hot water was available, along with basic necessities. The TV worked well with satellite channels, and there was also a balcony. A night security guard was present, and he was friendly and helpful when we left early for worship. The pool looked nice and clean, but we didn’t have time to enjoy it. We made the mistake of leaving a light on outside, which attracted a few insects, but that’s just part of being outdoors. The breakfast was excellent, and we really enjoyed it. While it wasn’t the cheapest option compared to other places in the area, I have no complaints about the experience and service. I would recommend it.

Consistently Great Experience at Gamodh Citadel
We've enjoyed another wonderful stay at Gamodh Citadel hotel, marking our 6th or 7th visit. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent and well-prepared. Great stay with superb food
We had a fantastic experience at Gamodh Citadel Resort! The food was truly exceptional – incredibly tasty and expertly prepared. The pool was also fantastic and very clean, ideal for unwinding. A big shoutout to Ms. Kumudu, who provided us with excellent service. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and really enhanced our stay. In summary, the customer service was top-notch, and we highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Anuradhapura. We will certainly come back! 😊

Memorable Breakfast Experience
I visited 10 days ago, and the waiter who served breakfast was exceptionally kind, professional, and had a great sense of humor. He was truly one of the highlights of my entire trip. The hotel itself was stunning, featuring a lovely swimming pool and roomy accommodations.

Friendly staff and great rooms
The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making us feel welcome right from the beginning. The welcome drink and afternoon tea were absolutely delightful. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and spotless. All in all, it was a fantastic experience with very nice people to interact with. The only downside was the limited Wi-Fi, particularly since the mobile signal strength in the area is quite weak.
