This hotel is quite nice. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is peaceful. A major plus is its proximity to the railway station. If you want to explore the city, you can also rent a bike. I recommend it for everyone.

I spent three nights at Kingdom Gate while visiting Anuradhapura and Dambulla. The homestay boasts a fantastic location, just a short walk from the station and the town center/old bus station. The family that runs it is truly amazing and took great care of me. I enjoyed the breakfasts, which were plentiful and beautifully presented. My room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, featuring a good shower. The area is very peaceful, making it pleasant to relax in the dining area and listen to the birds. Their home is charming, filled with lovely plants. I had a great experience and found it to be an excellent value. The family even took care of my laundry and provided a bicycle for exploring the ancient sites of Anuradhapura.

We spent a night at Kingdom Gate, which is one of the most convenient options for travelers coming to Anuradhapura by train. The hotel has a limited number of rooms. However, the washroom door in our room was broken and wouldn’t close properly. Additionally, the washroom itself felt cramped for a double room. If they could renovate these issues and ensure better cleanliness in the washrooms and facilities, this would be a solid choice for train travelers heading to Anuradhapura.

The location was convenient, but the rooms didn't match the pictures. The sheets had some dust on them, and the washrooms were not stocked with fresh toilet paper. The staff was welcoming, but I do wish the cleaning could have been better.

The rooms were quite dirty, and there was an unpleasant odor throughout the place. I noticed stray dogs wandering around the property, and the bathroom doors were in disrepair. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

This place is situated in a great spot, making it easy to access the city and nearby pilgrimage sites. However, the bathroom in the double room is quite cramped, and I noticed some noise, likely from a pump, but it didn’t affect my sleep. The garden is well-maintained and there's outdoor parking available for vehicles.

This family-owned inn is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station and close to the historic sites of the city. You have the option to rent bicycles or simply take a local tuk-tuk. Additionally, there's parking available for your vehicle. The rooms are tidy, contemporary, and come with a nice breakfast included.

The customer service was lacking and the atmosphere was quite unpleasant. We checked in around 12:15 p.m. and had to wait almost an hour for our room arrangements, even though they stated check-in was at noon. The overall condition of the place was not great; the bathroom had broken windows, there was no water for a long period, and we experienced an electricity outage (not their internal issue) for several hours in our booked air-conditioned rooms. Honestly, it felt like a waste to stay at such a low-quality place with high prices. We would have preferred to stay at a temple instead of this hellhole.

The highlight of this establishment is undoubtedly its location, with heritage sites on one side and the new town on the other. Situated right next to the railway station, it’s very convenient. However, the service could use some enhancement. I noticed the bathroom door latch requires repair, which was already mentioned by another customer two months ago. Also, it’s worth noting that they don’t accept card payments at the moment, although that may change. Unfortunately, the WiFi was completely non-functional during my visit.
