Amazing stay at the water cottage

What a wonderful experience! The water cottage boasts a fantastic location for those visiting Sigiriya. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-prepared. They provided water daily, which was a nice touch. The breakfast and dinner choices were outstanding, featuring delicious, traditional dishes served in a communal family-style that made it feel particularly special. The owners are truly remarkable—kind individuals who make you feel like part of the family. We spent about £160 for three nights, one dinner, one breakfast, plus beers and wine, making it quite budget-friendly. The pool area is also stunning, nestled in the forest, creating a magical atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone planning a stay in Sigiriya. They arranged our hikes and transportation for various activities and transfers at very reasonable rates. A big thank you to the owners—we will definitely return! ❤️

Great stay with helpful staff

We spent five nights here and found it to be an excellent location, within walking distance of a bar, several restaurants, and convenience stores. Our accommodations in the cottages were clean, spacious, and comfortable. They provided tea and coffee facilities and kept bottled water replenished. Breakfast featured fruit along with various hot dishes like hoppers, omelettes, and pancakes, which were all delicious and offered something new each day. We dined there one evening and enjoyed flavorful curry and generous portions. We also utilized the laundry service, which was very convenient while traveling, and the staff were always eager to assist. This place is ideally situated for visiting Sigiriya Rock, Rose Quartz Mountain, and Pidurangala Rock. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially for a refreshing swim after a hot day!

Wonderful stay in Sigiriya!

What a fantastic family! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here; they were incredibly accommodating, and the cottage is stunning with a gorgeous pool and beautiful natural surroundings. The meals were outstanding for both dinner and breakfast. Getting to Lion's Rock was simple, whether we walked or took a tuk-tuk. We absolutely loved our stay in Sigiriya!

Spacious Room with Great Pool

This place is quite nice. Our room was spacious, featuring a double bed and two singles. The bathroom was simple but served its purpose well. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were too chilly to enjoy, but the main pool, which included a smaller, shallower section, was wonderfully warm. Our daughter absolutely loved it. Breakfast offered large portions. We were within walking distance of a few fantastic restaurants that we enjoyed for dinner. One downside was that our room was quite dark, receiving little sunlight since it was on the lower floor. I would recommend opting for the first floor rooms and steering clear of the personal pool, which looked appealing but we didn’t end up using.

Unique property with room for improvement

This property stands out as truly unique, nestled in a lovely green area. However, there are several opportunities to enhance the business. For starters, I found the main front desk representative, the lady who interacts with guests, to come off as a bit snooty and reluctant to help. A warmer approach and a friendly smile would greatly contribute to a more positive atmosphere. Staff engagement with guests is crucial and can greatly influence the overall impression of the place. We were glad our stay was only for two nights, as the villa did not provide much comfort. A random bath occupies the main area, which could be better utilized with a dressing table or mirror. Moreover, the bathroom is spacious enough to be redesigned for better functionality. There are also unexpected steps scattered around the villa that could lead to tripping hazards. While I see the design theme the family aimed for, it seems they didn't fully achieve it. Overall, a bit more focus on guest interactions and the layout of the space could significantly enhance the experience at this charming location.

Wonderful stay at Sigiriya Water Cottage

We had a fantastic experience at Sigiriya Water Cottage. The property is stunning and features a lovely swimming pool. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with excellent air conditioning. The hotel organized a wonderful elephant safari for us, which became a memorable highlight of our trip. It's also ideally located for exploring the village and Lion Rock. I highly recommend it, and if we return to Sri Lanka, I would definitely love to come back.

Comfortable stay with lovely amenities

Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay. Because of some booking issues, we got to experience both the cottage and a room. The cottage was stunning and offered more privacy, but the recently renovated room felt even more luxurious. We really appreciated having hot water in the shower. The pool was also wonderful, particularly during sunset.

Family-friendly stay with beautiful grounds

We had an exceptional two-night stay from January 30 to February 2, 2026. This family-oriented spot features a gorgeous pool and lets monkeys and birds roam freely around the property. The food was fantastic, and the owners went out of their way to ensure we felt welcome. The photos really don't capture how lovely this place is! It's also impeccably clean and well-maintained. I couldn't recommend it more!

Comfortable stay with delightful service

My sister and I had a fantastic two-night stay here! The beds were really comfortable, and we had a spacious bathroom. We brought a lot of bottled water, and it was great to be able to keep it cold in the mini fridge. The coffee and tea station in our room was also a nice touch. Upon our arrival, the host's children warmly welcomed us, and they were adorable. One morning we arranged for take-away breakfast, which was hot and tasty! We also had dinner at the property, and everything was beautifully arranged, with personalized service, and the rice and curry were absolutely delicious! We're thankful for the comfort, access to the pool, the option to ride bikes, and the welcoming family atmosphere. 🥰 We would definitely stay here again without hesitation!
