    Enjoyable Stay at Hibiscus Beach Hotel

    My wife and I recently enjoyed our time at Hibiscus Beach Hotel. The service was top-notch throughout our visit—the staff were friendly, attentive, and always eager to assist. A special shoutout to the front office team and the reservations team for their exceptional support in arranging our 1st wedding anniversary room decorations and cake. They made the booking process seamless and ensured everything was perfectly set up in our room. In summary, we had a fantastic experience, and the warm hospitality truly made our trip memorable.     Great villa and location!

    We absolutely loved the villa with its pool! The property’s location is fantastic, right on the beach, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our villa was ideal for us—spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff were extremely warm and courteous. The food was top-notch; very flavorful, particularly the Sri Lankan dishes. The presence of two swimming pools (with warm water) and lawns was a significant plus, especially while traveling with teenagers. We truly enjoyed our stay!

    Great family-friendly hotel experience

    This hotel features a spacious two-story layout with well-maintained rooms, a restaurant, swimming pools, and access to the beach. The rooms are kept clean, including the bathrooms. The beach area is safe for children, thanks to fencing and the presence of watchmen. The food is excellent, offering plenty of vegetarian choices. Dinner was particularly enjoyable with a lovely ambiance complemented by music. However, the access road next to the railway is a bit narrow for buses.

    Great Family Experience at Hibiscus

    Visiting Hibiscus with my family, which includes members of various ages, was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, and they did a great job accommodating both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. A big thanks to Chef Indika for the impressive buffet. We also enjoyed the pool and badminton court. Overall, it was a memorable outing.

    Wonderful Group Stay Experience

    We had a fantastic experience at this hotel during our group stay of over 40 people. From the get-go, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very professional. Check-in was seamless and efficient. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and tastefully designed. The bed was super comfortable, and all the necessary amenities were provided thoughtfully. Housekeeping kept everything at a high standard throughout our visit. A special mention goes to Mr. Dimutha Ilangakoon, who went above and beyond to assist us. The food was tasty with a great selection, and the restaurant staff were attentive and nice. The facilities, including the pool and common areas, were well-kept and provided a relaxing atmosphere. In summary, this hotel surpassed our expectations in every aspect. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, quality, and excellence.

    Mixed experience at Hibiscus Beach Hotel

    We spent two days at Hibiscus Beach Hotel. The rooms were decent, but the bathrooms definitely need some upgrades. They felt outdated and a bit sticky, plus there was only a shower with no hand faucet, which was inconvenient. The food was enjoyable, and several staff members were friendly and welcoming. We particularly appreciated the kitchen manager, who wore glasses, though we didn’t catch his name. He was warm, attentive, and made us feel at ease during our meals. However, our experience on the second day was quite disappointing. A different staff member was on duty, and his behavior was upsetting. He hardly responded to our questions and seemed uninterested in assisting us. At the same time, he was very friendly with foreign tourists, laughing and chatting with them, giving them much more attention and care. The contrast in treatment was stark and made us feel unwelcome, which was honestly hurtful and left a negative impression. On the bright side, the beach is conveniently close to the hotel and easily walkable, which was nice. Overall, our stay was average—good food and some kind staff, but the state of the bathrooms and the inconsistent, biased service really impacted our experience.

    Great location but needs serious upgrades

    The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, offering direct access to the beach and surrounded by lovely gardens that foster a calming atmosphere. Additionally, having two swimming pools is a nice touch that enhances the resort’s appeal. However, my overall experience was quite disappointing. The hotel is quite dated and seems to be lacking in upkeep. I had booked a private villa for three nights at a hefty price, so I anticipated a much better standard of accommodation. Unfortunately, the villa felt outdated, was not adequately cleaned, and lacked comfort. Upon arrival, the bed sheets looked dirty, and the overall cleanliness was below what I'd expect from a hotel in this price range. Moreover, several amenities in the room were malfunctioning. The television didn’t work, and the kettle was also out of order. Many of the furnishings appeared old and worn. While the hotel boasts two swimming pools, they aren’t well cared for, and there’s minimal service available in the pool area. There were no staff members present to help set up sun loungers or provide towels, which made the experience feel neglected. The food also fell short of my expectations, lacking in quality and variety for a resort of this caliber. In summary, the hotel’s location and gardens are lovely, but the rooms, cleanliness, maintenance, food quality, and service need considerable improvement. I sincerely hope management invests in upgrading the facilities and improving the guest experience, as the property has great potential.
