Wonderful family gathering spot

What a fantastic experience! Right from our arrival, we felt warmly welcomed. The villa was impeccably clean, the pool was spacious and inviting, and the entire location had a delightful, serene atmosphere perfect for a family reunion. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The staff paid great attention to detail and ensured we had everything we required. We had such an enjoyable time and will certainly return. Highly recommend!!❤️

Great experience at the villa

Nice place for families and groups

This place is pleasant and offers good value for the price. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. All necessary amenities, including hot water and air conditioning, are provided. There's a clean swimming pool available as well. They have several family rooms if needed, making it a great option for families, couples, or groups. Plus, the location is just a short walk to the beach.

Welcoming staff and great food

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and supportive during our entire stay. The rooms offered plenty of space and were quite comfortable. We also relished the tasty food and appreciated the convenient location. I genuinely enjoyed everything about this place. The hotel’s facilities and services were outstanding. I’m really pleased with the tranquil surroundings. Overall, everything surpassed our expectations.

Clean and Well-Managed Property

The place was nice and tidy. The washroom and pool were exceptionally clean. It’s a well-managed property, and getting a pickme or Uber tuk tuk was easy, even at night. The host was friendly and accommodating as well.

Disappointing security issues at Gedra Villa

We stayed at Gedra Villa, but the experience was quite disappointing. The security is inadequate; it appears that almost any key can open any room, which is really concerning. During our visit, one of my friends and I were robbed, which made things even worse. When we brought this to the attention of the management, their reaction was very unprofessional and unhelpful. Overall, it was an unpleasant stay, and I'm surprised this place has a 3-star rating.

Tranquil getaway with great service

The atmosphere here is peaceful and embraces nature. The rooms and the surrounding area are spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Amenities like AC, WiFi, and hot water are available. The food is quite good. Ms. Anoma is very friendly and helpful, while Tharindu took great care of us with his professionalism, neatness, and attentiveness. We enjoyed a fantastic one-night stay. The large garden allowed us to play cricket, and there's also a volleyball court, making it ideal for family or friends gatherings, as well as small office events. We appreciated the early check-in and late checkout without any extra charges, as there were no other bookings in the villa we occupied. The staff was warm and welcoming, even offering us an extra meal. I would definitely return with friends.

Disappointing Stay with Serious Security Issues

Our one-night stay at Gedara Villa was quite disappointing and concerning. During our time there, around LKR 15,000 was stolen from two of our colleagues. When we informed the management, their reaction was shockingly dismissive. The manager, Thushara, remarked, 'If the gates were locked, we can’t do anything about it. It’s not our problem.' This lack of accountability was unprofessional and alarming. We found there was no CCTV in the areas we used, which left us without a way to identify the thief. We had to involve the police to ensure the situation was taken seriously. It was only after their involvement that management agreed to deduct the stolen amount from our bill, but it took a lot of arguing and persistence from us. Aside from this incident, the service quality was lacking. Even the simple act of receiving a welcome drink took an unreasonable amount of time. More concerning was the apparent security risk at the property. The room keys were not unique, allowing one key to open multiple rooms. This is a significant breach of guest safety and privacy, which any accommodation provider should prioritize. Overall, this was a dangerously mismanaged experience, and I would strongly recommend others think twice before staying here until these serious problems are resolved.

Great getaway at Gedara Villa

We spent a night at Gedara Villa and had a wonderful experience overall. On the day we arrived, the garden was being cleaned, which made it a bit noisy for the first couple of hours due to the grass cutting. However, it didn't really bother us since the villa offers plenty of space for various activities. We had a great time playing cricket and lounging in the pool. Although the pool isn't very big, it's ideal for relaxing and enjoying time with friends. The standout aspect of our visit was definitely the food and service. There were only two staff members on duty, but they were remarkably efficient. We asked for tea several times, and it was always served quickly. Each meal arrived on time and was incredibly tasty. A special thanks to the cook and supporting staff—they truly went the extra mile and won us over. I highly recommend Gedara Villa for a short getaway with friends or family!
