Upon arriving at the hotel around 11:30 am, we were taken to our room. After a lengthy flight and an hour-long transfer, we were really tired. To our dismay, the room had a foul odor, and there were insects crawling over the furniture, with ants all over the toilet. We were just...

Room service was quite disappointing; there were no dental kits or towels, and we had to keep asking for them. They only start serving at 7 AM, so if you need anything before then, you're out of luck. The rooms are quite dated and need improvements in several areas. There's no elevator to the 4th floor, and the tiles in the swimming pool are broken, which could be hazardous if not noticed. On a positive note, the view of the beach from the room is stunning, and the bathroom is spacious. Everything was clean and well-organized. The buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent. We tried to enjoy the nightlife, but the streets were completely dark next to the railway track. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for families.

The resort still goes by its old name, Ratna Beach resort, which feels misleading since the services and property are quite dated. The room was simple, and the bathroom was not clean. Breakfast and dinner buffets were tasteless, and the restaurant staff seemed more focused on catering to Western guests for tips than to Asians. At check-in, the front desk staff were unaware of our arrival, making us wait nearly 30 minutes while they sorted out their mistake, claiming the room was being prepared, which felt like a direct lie. During checkout, I requested assistance to move our luggage, but after waiting 20 minutes, no one showed up. Overall, it was a very unpleasant stay, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Definitely not worth it.

This hotel offers a lovely view of the beach. The room was quite nice, and the staff delivered good service overall. However, the wifi connection in the room was lacking. On the bright side, the general manager, chef, and other staff were excellent. They went out of their way to prepare special meals for us since we are vegetarian and prefer non-spicy dishes. The chef even made a special vegetarian dessert just for us.

The atmosphere is calm and serene. However, the staff's efficiency leaves much to be desired. The hotel itself is decent. The buffet was straightforward yet tasty. Unfortunately, the beach isn't ideal due to rough waters and a steep incline. The highlight of the stay was definitely the pool, which is well-kept and very clean. The service by the pool was also commendable. Overall, I had a wonderful time.

This has been the best hotel I've stayed at in Sri Lanka so far. The staff were wonderful, and the hotel has a lot of potential. The food was fresh and delicious, making our visit truly enjoyable. They even organized an outdoor dinner buffet for us as well.

The hotel features the largest room I've ever stayed in, but the TV is tiny and placed far from the bed. The food was just okay, and the restaurant lacked air conditioning, making it quite humid. There's a large outdoor area near the beach, although swimming isn't allowed. The pool is also spacious and really nice. Overall, the hotel felt a bit neglected and had an abandoned vibe. Additionally, it was the only place where staff lingered in the room, expecting tips for carrying bags, even though I hadn't requested any assistance and didn't have any change to offer. Case closed.
