Great stay in Ella near attractions

This hotel is an excellent choice for your stay in Ella, conveniently located near the well-known Ella Lane. The check-in process was seamless, and the management team was very kind. Initially, our room had three single beds, but it was later upgraded to a suite with two king beds, which was spacious and comfortable. Ella has a wonderful atmosphere, and this hotel is a great spot to experience it. The breakfast was satisfactory but could be enhanced with more variety. A nice touch was the local black tea gifted to us by the management as a souvenir, which was a lovely gesture.

Convenient Stay with Authentic Breakfast

We recently spent some time at Oak Ray Ella, which turned out to be one of the most convenient accommodations in the city. Numerous restaurants and pubs are just a short walk away. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried the Sri Lankan breakfast from the buffet, and it truly captured the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka. Additionally, the Ravana adventure park is only about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a convenient location with a Sri Lankan flair.

Great staff, needs property upgrades

We had a tour party of eight, and the location is fantastic. I'm grateful for the dedicated and hardworking staff, especially Satheesha and Hasindu at the reception, who ensured that guest service was top-notch. They, along with the rest of the team, were very polite and attentive to our needs. However, I believe it's time for management to consider refurbishing and upgrading the property, as it feels a bit worn and in need of attention. Thanks to the staff's excellent service mindset, we were able to overlook some of the property's shortcomings.

Helpful staff but food and access issues

The hotel staff were friendly, and the rooms were tidy and well-kept. However, we had chosen a family room on the 4th floor, which had no lift access, making our stay somewhat uncomfortable. Although the staff generously offered to switch our room on the last day, moving to the 3rd floor wouldn’t have significantly improved our situation, so we decided to stay put. The dinner and breakfast choices were just average, and one night, the set dinner was served cold, which was quite disappointing. In summary, while the service and cleanliness of the rooms were commendable, the absence of lift access and the issues with food quality did have a negative impact on our overall experience.

Comfortable stay with friendly staff

My friend and I spent a night at the Oak Ray Ella Gap hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near shops and restaurants, and we felt safe during our stay. The only downside was the presence of too many stray dogs that barked at night. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom met all our needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even offering us welcome drinks upon arrival. For dinner, we had to order from the menu rather than having a buffet, but breakfast was served buffet style. We enjoyed our time in this charming and welcoming hotel. When we checked out, they gifted me a box of tea bags, which my friend declined. Just a small note of appreciation to the hotel staff for taking good care of us.

Great buffet experience at the hotel

Outstanding stay in Ella

I had an excellent experience with fantastic staff, a lovely room, and an incredible shower—definitely the best I've encountered in Sri Lanka after four trips. It's located off the main road in Ella, making it quieter, yet it's just a short walk to dinner, coffee, and drinks. I would absolutely stay here again.
