The place is located on a steep hill, so be prepared for a climb if you're not fit. The rooms themselves are quite basic, with low-quality bed linens, but they are spacious. It's conveniently close to the center, which means you can hear music from Ella until around 12:30 am. I hardly encountered any other guests during my stay, and I'm not sure I would return. Overall, it felt like tired accommodation.

This hotel is delightful, featuring incredibly friendly staff. Our room was spacious and spotless, showcasing solid wood accents against white walls, giving it a modern yet colonial vibe. The balcony offered a view over the town, while the property's location allowed us to enjoy a nice vista of the jungle and mountains. Breakfast was quite generous, and they were accommodating with our vegan request. The location suited us perfectly; it’s just a short walk up a steep hill, which can feel like an extra couple of minutes after a long day of hiking. However, the advantage is that you're only two minutes away from the main strip, and it’s surprisingly quiet, making you feel somewhat secluded. The only thing we found lacking was a pool, but they are currently working on one!

Surpassed all our expectations. The location is ideal, just a short stroll to town and the lookouts. Breakfast was fantastic, complete with all the extras. The service was quick and friendly. Our rooms were comfy, featuring verandas, open-air dining, and a brand new pool. What else could you ask for? A big thank you to Nandana and the team for taking such great care of us.

We spent three nights at Hotel Alta Vista in Ella and had a fantastic time. As two girls traveling together, we felt completely secure and at ease during our stay. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from Ella town, yet still quiet enough to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views and peace. The value for what we paid was outstanding. Our room was spacious, featuring a large bathroom, hot water, and a private balcony that offered a stunning mountain vista. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay! Each morning, we were treated to a generous array of both Western and Sri Lankan dishes, always fresh and warm, no matter when we arrived for breakfast. It felt cozy and special. The host made our visit unforgettable. He was kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with any requests or local recommendations. One particularly thoughtful gesture was when he offered to drop us off at the train station at no extra cost, which we really appreciated, as transport in Ella can be pricey. In summary, Alta Vista is a safe, budget-friendly, and welcoming place, providing genuine hospitality that truly makes you feel at home. We would love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ella.

Our time at this hotel was fantastic. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful during our entire visit. The food was tasty and nicely prepared. They even organized a lovely birthday celebration for my wife, adding a special touch to our stay. I highly recommend this place for their outstanding service and hospitality! 🎉

The team at Alta Vista is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely lovely. While the view is beautiful, the noise from the parties in downtown Ella can be quite distracting. Nevertheless, Alta Vista has a charming atmosphere, a fantastic pool, and a delightful breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in Ella and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Its location in the heart of Ella is perfect. The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic variety of breads, fruits, and eggs made to order. Overall, it was a great experience.
