Great stay in Nuwara Eliya

We truly enjoyed our time in Nuwara Eliya! The host, who took over the property just a year ago, is doing an excellent job of keeping it up. The rooms were tidy, comfortable, and offered great value for the price. The location couldn't be better — just a brief stroll to Gregory Lake and conveniently close to all the local attractions. The host was incredibly welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a cozy and budget-friendly option in a fantastic location!

Great family experience at Shiny Cot

Perfect Family Retreat

Beautiful views and great service

This is a really nice spot with stunning views. It takes less than five minutes to reach Gregory Park. The service is excellent; the staff member is very kind and assisted me in planning my trip. The bathroom has hot water, making for a comfortable shower. He also helped me with my research.

Caution Needed with Reservations

Be mindful of the daily room rental rates and don’t rely entirely on reservations made through Booking.com. I had a rather frustrating experience recently. I booked a room via Booking.com, but the phone number provided was not functional. Upon arriving at the property, they initially refused to honor my reservation, stating they do not accept bookings from Booking.com. Fortunately, after some time, and because a room opened up, they allowed me to stay. During check-in, they confirmed the price and took an advance payment. However, when I checked out, they tried to charge me almost three times the agreed price, citing "seasonal pricing" as the reason. After a lengthy dispute, they eventually refunded part of the excess charge, but the whole situation was stressful and unprofessional. I highly recommend that future guests exercise caution, ensure they clarify pricing beforehand, and avoid relying solely on online bookings without direct confirmation from the property.

We booked the sweet cot online and were assured there would be heaters and hot water. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the facilities did not meet those promises. The hot water was controlled and extremely limited.
