The staff here are a wonderful group of compassionate individuals, and they really do provide excellent medical care. The service is good, and the team goes out of their way to ensure you feel comfortable. However, the experience is significantly marred by the conditions of the ward. The environment, including the beds, food, and overall surroundings, is simply unacceptable. Any patient entering a psychiatric ward anticipates a space that fosters comfort and peace of mind. Unfortunately, this ward resembles something from a horror film—it's dirty, dull, poorly maintained, and has flickering lights, creating an overall dreadful atmosphere. There is a garden that seems completely neglected, and the food served is far from appealing; my suggestion would be to consider bringing your own meals from home. Lastly, while it may not be easy to address, adding soundproof rooms would be crucial. From personal experience, listening to another patient suffer and scream in anguish around the clock can push even the most stable individuals to contemplate suicide.
