During our 10-day trip to Sri Lanka, we spent 3 nights at Anama in Tangalle, and it turned out to be our favorite accommodation! The private pool was a highlight, plus it was just a 5-minute stroll to the beach and a 2-minute walk to a spa. The food at Say Yeah! was some of the best I've had in ages. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I can't wait to return!

We enjoyed a stay in three comfortable villas, each featuring its own pool. The environment was tranquil, making it ideal for a group getaway. Each room came with a private patio, perfect for unwinding and socializing. The dining options were reasonably priced, and there are multiple restaurants within walking distance, though it requires a bit of a stroll. The beach is only a few minutes away and quite picturesque, but I wouldn't suggest swimming there. For a better swimming experience, there's a beach near the harbor that's not a minute's walk away, making it still relatively accessible. The rates are fair considering the location, providing excellent value overall. A note for improvement: the pathway to the villas lacks lighting at night, so adding lights would greatly enhance safety! In summary, it was a wonderful stay that I would rate an 8.5 out of 10.

We reserved a triple suite with a private pool at Anama by Queens Mount, and it truly surpassed our expectations. Initially, I had some doubts about our choice, but as soon as we entered the room, they all disappeared. The suite, private pool, amenities, and friendly service were simply outstanding. It's a budget-friendly hotel that offers excellent value for money. Although the views aren't the best, the beach and town are just a short stroll away, making the location quite convenient. I highly recommend it for a comfortable and affordable stay in Tangalle!

The rooms are quite large, perhaps even larger than necessary, but unfortunately they show signs of wear and tear. The layout aligns with the photos, but it’s clear they are past their prime. The mosquito net had some holes and looked a bit worn, which is an issue since the garden attracts various insects like spiders, ants, and mosquitoes. The property has two sections; to reach the villas surrounded by the garden, you have to go through a gate and take a bit of a walk. At night, this path isn't very pleasant due to the presence of dogs. While there’s a second gate, the dogs can enter that area too. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and the location is fantastic—very close to the beach, with the sound of waves audible from the garden, and a large supermarket is nearby. Breakfast options were decent, offering an English or Sri Lankan choice, though I probably wouldn’t opt for them again. Overall, if I were to return to Tangalle, I’d likely pick a place on the other side of town, nearer to Secret Beach. It’s a fair value for the price, but it doesn’t quite live up to the fancy impression it gives in the pictures.

Be careful, as you may not receive the room you expect. My wife and I arrived for our honeymoon and were really let down by the room and the private pool area, leading us to decide to leave. Unfortunately, this meant we lost our money, but we just couldn’t see ourselves enjoying our time there. We were looking forward to a luxurious outdoor space to share, but instead encountered dead plants and broken pool grills. It was heartbreaking because we had anticipated this stay. The room we ended up in looks like it was only featured on the website for a nighttime photo, which really hides a lot!

We definitely won't be returning! The professional photos do not accurately reflect the state of the rooms and the property, which are filthy, dim, and in poor condition. Additionally, the location is not very pleasant in Tangalle. There was a real risk of ...

The pool is fantastic and really the main highlight of our stay; we spent almost all day and night enjoying it. At night, it feels more romantic with half of the pool open to the sky under the full moon. The partially covered pool offers a lot more privacy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the cozy atmosphere created by the numerous pillows and nets around it. They provided towels, a toothbrush, soap, sugar, tea, and creamer. If you need anything, the staff are more than willing to assist you. The outdoor bathroom was a bit concerning at first, but it turned out to be fine. There’s also a dry bathroom inside the room. There’s a little garden that makes for a charming spot to enjoy tea in the afternoon. To be honest, it can feel a bit scary wandering around the city at night. However, there's a small path behind the hotel that leads to the beach for some time there. Most dining options seem to be home-based, which made me uncomfortable, so I ended up at Pizza Hut, and it surprisingly exceeded my expectations with good food. When we checked out, they gave us a cute fish keytag, which I absolutely loved. It shows their attention to detail.
