    Great stay at Steffi’s Mandala Hostel

    We had a fantastic experience at Steffi’s Mandala Hostel in Hikkaduwa! From the very beginning, Steffi, her husband, and their team greeted us with incredible warmth, making us feel right at home. Traveling with friends, we stayed in two sea-view rooms, which were absolutely stunning! The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and ideal for relaxation. The food was exceptionally tasty and clearly made with great care. The common areas were inviting and perfect for unwinding or meeting other travelers. The location couldn't be better: tranquil, right on the beach, yet close to restaurants and all necessary amenities. We would return anytime and highly recommend Steffi’s Mandala Hostel!

    Great stay in Hikkaduwa

    The location is fantastic, just a short walk to everything in Hikkaduwa. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend this place. Ahas, the manager, is truly a legend.

    Great service and tasty tofu burger

    We ordered the tofu katsu burger, but there was a mix-up at first when a chicken katsu burger was served instead. The staff quickly corrected it and graciously offered us a complimentary round of drinks, which was a classy way to address the error—especially for vegetarian or vegan diners who might find such a mistake upsetting. The tofu katsu burger was fantastic—juicy and perfectly fried. We added extra fries and guacamole, making the meal feel complete and very satisfying. The cocktails, a Dark & Stormy and a Cuba Libre, were also well-crafted, refreshing, and delightful. The owner stopped by to check on us and personally apologized for the mix-up, which was a nice touch, even if it wasn’t necessary. Overall, the service was attentive and efficient, with our orders arriving quickly. I can't really point out anything negative. The way the initial error was handled only enhanced our feeling of being valued as guests. This place clearly cares about its food and its customers.

    Delicious food with great options

    The food here is fantastic. They offer a wonderful variety of lunch choices, including plenty of vegetarian and vegan selections, along with tasty meat dishes. The service was excellent, and the prices provide good value. Plus, you can enjoy their lounge chairs for free while snacking on some nibbles and drinks. I tried the veggie burger, and it was incredible. I highly recommend this place.

    Perfect Spot for Vegans

    Vegans, this place is a must-visit! It's such a relaxed beachfront spot! I'm someone who sticks to what I love, and once I discover a place that truly satisfies me, I keep going back. This is that spot! The service is fantastic, there's a lovely ocean breeze, and their breakfast smoothie bowls and "soul" bowls are the best! I typically stick to whole food plant-based meals, and this place caters to that perfectly! The vegan chickpea burger is amazing, definitely one of the best I've ever had! And let me tell you, their dill pickles are delicious! You have to try it, you’ll leave feeling wonderfully nourished!

    Wonderful beachfront experience

    This is a fantastic hostel and restaurant right by the beach, boasting a wonderfully friendly vibe. The staff were not only prompt and helpful but also truly kind, and the food was top-notch. We found ourselves returning for three consecutive days. As a nice perk, sunbeds are complimentary for customers. The restrooms were clean, there was an outdoor shower, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming, making it a comfortable place to relax.

    Friendly beach spot with great vibes

    This beachside spot is incredibly welcoming and the staff are genuinely friendly and eager to assist. While the food and drinks are priced at western rates, I believe it's worth the cost. The area also features charming markets and DJ sessions that are definitely worth checking out. Although I haven't stayed at the hostel itself, my friends and I are nearby and frequently come here for food and drinks, and we absolutely love it! 😝

    Great breakfast spot with friendly service

    This is an ideal spot for a tasty breakfast, boasting the finest coffee around. The staff are incredibly friendly and considerate, even providing complimentary filtered water. I wholeheartedly recommend the smoothie bowls and banana pancakes. The falafel plate we had for lunch was also impressive. We'd definitely return.

    A Great Beachside Retreat

    When my flight was canceled, I found myself stuck in Hikkaduwa for a week, and Steffi’s quickly felt like my second home. Located right on the beach, the rooms are very comfortable. The food is excellent, offering a wide range of vegetarian and vegan choices. However, what truly stood out was the exceptionally kind staff. I really appreciate all that you did for me!

    Great food and welcoming atmosphere

    During our week in Hikkaduwa/Narigama, we discovered Steffi's Mandala on our very first day and ended up spending the entire week there. Steffi has truly created a wonderful spot! The music is always enjoyable, the other guests are generally friendly, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive. A big thank you to Amila, Waruna, Vihanga, Shiran, Kanishkan, and Ahas for making our time so special! The chefs and kitchen crew serve up fantastic food! Everything on the menu is consistently delicious!
