Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience

My experience here was completely unacceptable. I specifically asked for privacy to discuss sensitive gynecological issues without family members present, but instead of receiving basic professionalism and respect for my confidentiality, I was met with passive-aggressive comments. As an adult seeking treatment, wanting a private conversation with a gynecologist should not be seen as strange or bothersome. Instead of fostering a safe space for dialogue, the response left me feeling dismissed and uncomfortable. The consultation itself was quite underwhelming. There was no meaningful dialogue, my concerns weren't adequately addressed, and the appointment felt rushed—just being told to drink water, having a scan, and then being sent off. A scan doesn’t substitute for a thorough consultation, especially when discussing personal matters. The disregard for patient autonomy, privacy, and professional behavior was alarming. Healthcare providers, especially in gynecology, must recognize the importance of confidentiality and create an environment where patients can speak freely. I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and patient-focused care.

Poor management and service at hospital

Located in the heart of Colombo, this hospital is poorly managed. Even at 7 PM, the parking lot was completely full. There was only one spot available in front of the hospital, but the security staff wouldn’t allow anyone to enter in order to admit patients first and sort out parking later. Despite paying for the services, the staff seemed unaware of how to communicate with patients and didn't show any concern for their well-being, focusing instead on trivial matters. I received a message that the channeling doctor had arrived, but I had to wait for a long time. It felt like we had to comply with their orders after paying for their services, rather than receiving proper guidance. This was an urgent appointment for a pressing issue, and I can confidently say it will be my first and last visit here.

Extremely Dirty Hospital Experience

This is one of the filthiest hospitals I've ever visited, lacking any sense of cleanliness. It feels worse than a government hospital, which is surprising because those have improved quite a bit lately. I only came here because it was an emergency. The hospital needs to be cleaned, the walls need a fresh coat of paint, and the staff should be replaced with more professional individuals. It felt like I was begging for help, even after paying.

Frustrating hospital experience

I'm writing this while at the hospital, waiting for my doctor's appointment. I kept asking the nurse for the patient number currently inside to gauge when it would be my turn, but she repeatedly ignored me. Additionally, the cashier experience was very inefficient and disappointing. I truly regret choosing this place for my appointment and, unfortunately, I won't be coming back. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience.

Disappointing Experience at Delmon Hospital

I would give zero stars if I could. For nearly three years, I've been bringing my daughter to see Dr. Fathima Hasmiya at Delmon Hospital, visiting monthly. Unfortunately, the level of professionalism and communication has really declined. We were explicitly told by the doctor to come with our blood reports without needing an appointment, which we’ve done previously without any issues. However, after waiting for hours on a school night with my child, we were abruptly informed that an appointment was actually required. This critical information was never relayed to us by the nurses or staff. Had we been properly informed, we wouldn't have wasted so much time waiting. The nurses were unhelpful, dismissive, and quite rude throughout the ordeal. To make matters worse, Dr. Fathima Hasmiya often runs late, even when patients arrive on time and follow her clinic's instructions. After being loyal patients for almost three years, it’s really disheartening to be treated with such disregard for our time. This whole experience highlighted poor communication, coordination, and accountability from both the doctor and hospital staff. In response to your email, I want to clarify that the sequence of events you described is not accurate. I was never informed that reports needed to be shown within a week of the appointment or that this was standard policy. The only response I received was a simple “no,” and I was told to schedule another appointment, despite following the doctor’s earlier instructions. Any attempts at clarification came only after I had to ask repeatedly, and even then, the information was inconsistent. My issue is not with hospital policies but rather the lack of proper communication and respect shown to a long-time patient who waited for hours on a school night with a child. It’s disappointing to see an attempt to justify the situation retrospectively with explanations that were never communicated at the time. After this experience, I cannot recommend this hospital or service to others. I hope future responses accurately reflect the facts rather than making assumptions after the fact.

Frustrating experience with poor service

My sister made an appointment, but the first issue was the lengthy wait despite having one scheduled. She suffers from severe migraines, yet the doctor seemed indifferent, attributing her pain to excessive phone use, even though she's dealt with these migraines since childhood and they can be debilitating enough to make her pass out. After an FBC, the doctor said her report would be sent via SMS. He prescribed some medication, but the hospital pharmacy misread the prescription, giving her a nighttime medicine for morning use, which caused her to nearly faint multiple times at work. She never received her report, so four days later, she had to return to the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctor provided vague responses and failed to give a proper diagnosis. To make matters worse, the pharmacist didn’t take responsibility for their error. If she hadn’t questioned the strength of the morning medication, she would have remained unaware of the mistake. Overall, the customer service was lacking, and even the front desk staff offered little help.
