    Disappointing service once again

I visited this hospital a few years back and had a really bad experience with their customer service. I didn't want to come back, but after all this time, I made another appointment hoping for some improvement. Sadly, the service remains quite disappointing. Even though it was a weekday morning with hardly any patients, the attitude of the staff—from the reception to the cashier and the nurses—was unprofessional and unfriendly. Everyone seemed grumpy and unhelpful. Honestly, the service here feels worse than some government hospitals, which have actually seen improvements over the years. I’m not sure what kind of training the staff undergo here. I wouldn't recommend this place. Best to avoid it.

    Disappointing Experience at Delmon

The waiting time was excessively long, and there was a lack of professionalism among the staff. Patients with reports were prioritized, leaving those who were waiting in the channeling process frustrated. I suggest that late patients with early appointment numbers be seen in the order they arrive, as it feels unfair to those who have already waited for hours. I truly hope to avoid Delmon in the future; it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hospital.

    Disappointing experience at private hospital

I went in hoping for efficiency and care, but the visit turned out to be quite the opposite. From the beginning, it was chaotic; an elderly patient struggled to move between several receptions and the payment counter for no obvious reason. There were no clear instructions or coordination, creating a frustrating loop. The ECG waiting area was stifling, lacking any fans or air conditioning. In contrast, all the reception desks, cash counters, and doctors' rooms were comfortably air-conditioned. It seems like the comfort is prioritized for staff rather than for the paying patients, which is baffling. To make matters worse, we had to wait a long time because the ECG technician arrived late, probably enjoying a lengthy lunch break. This is meant to be a private hospital, a choice we make and pay for instead of relying on free government facilities. Yet, the service appears just as flawed, if not worse. It feels like an absolute farce.

    Extremely Disappointing Experience

My visit to New Delmon Hospital Colombo was incredibly disappointing. The facility is quite old and seems to be poorly taken care of. The state of the building and its amenities is frankly shocking for a place meant to provide medical care. There was mold emerging from the walls, visible damage throughout the property, and the overall atmosphere felt neglected and outdated. The seating situation is also quite inadequate. The assigned seats are positioned far from the doctors’ entrance, making it hard for patients to know when they are called. To make matters worse, if patients attempt to stay closer to the doctor's door to hear their names, the staff simply instruct them to return to the designated seating area. There seems to be no effort to improve the waiting experience or make it more comfortable for those in need. The front office and customer service were another significant issue. The staff were unhelpful and lacked friendliness or basic courtesy. One would expect hospital employees to recognize that patients might already be feeling stressed or anxious, but the attitude we encountered was entirely unwelcoming. Even a simple smile or willingness to assist seemed to be asking too much. In summary, the mix of poor customer service, unsuitable seating, damaged and outdated facilities, and mold in the building made for a very unpleasant experience. A hospital should be a clean, safe, and inviting environment for patients. Sadly, based on my experience, New Delmon Hospital has much work ahead to meet that expectation. I truly hope the management addresses these concerns and enhances both the facilities and patient care. If I could give zero stars, I would have done so. They don’t even deserve a single star.

    Convenient healthcare but needs improvement

New Delmon Hospital, situated in Wellawatte along Galle Road, is a well-regarded private healthcare facility, easily accessible for residents of Colombo and surrounding areas. It offers a variety of medical services, including OPD consultations, lab tests, pharmacy services, ICU care, maternity services, and specialist doctor appointments. Operating 24/7, it is convenient for emergencies and urgent medical needs. One of the key benefits of this hospital is its central location and the multitude of medical services available all in one place. Patients can consult various specialists, access diagnostic services like X-rays and lab tests, and participate in wellness programs such as health screenings and disease-prevention clinics. They also provide specialized services like diabetic clinics, women’s wellness clinics, and corporate health checkups focused on preventive care. However, experiences among patients are varied. While some appreciate the accessibility and availability of certain doctors, others have voiced concerns regarding long wait times, appointment delays, and the customer service provided by administrative staff. Online feedback suggests that enhancing staff communication, hospital management, and patient care processes could significantly improve the overall patient experience. Despite these issues, the hospital remains popular among many patients due to its affordable consultation fees compared to other private hospitals in Colombo and the presence of experienced consultants. Many still choose it for basic treatments, checkups, and specialist consultations. In summary, New Delmon Hospital is a convenient choice for medical consultations and basic healthcare services in Colombo, though there is definitely room for improvement in patient service, time management, and overall hospital administration. With better management and improved patient care standards, it could offer a much better healthcare experience for the community.

Disappointing Experience at New Delmon Hospital

From my experience, I can't recommend New Delmon Hospital. I called and was assigned appointment number 9 for a pediatrician, with the doctor expected at 9:00 a.m. I arrived around 9:30 a.m., anticipating that patients would be seen based on their channeling numbers. The hospital itself seemed quite old and not well-kept. It really needs a thorough renovation. I observed areas that were worn, surfaces that were damaged, and walls that gave off an impression of being unclean and poorly maintained. If cleanliness is a priority for you, this might not be the best choice. The biggest letdown was the disorganized queue system. I learned that patients weren't seen in order of their channeling numbers, and those waiting near the doctor's door were prioritized. I also witnessed people being called ahead of others, which made the whole situation feel chaotic. It felt more like a busy government hospital than the private hospital experience I had anticipated. My interactions with the staff varied; some were courteous, while others were not, leading to a sense of unprofessionalism and lack of organization. While the hospital charges are lower compared to many other private facilities, for me, the reduced cost doesn't compensate for the issues of cleanliness, disarray, and the overall patient experience. Based on my visit, I cannot recommend this hospital.

    Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience

My experience here was completely unacceptable. I specifically asked for privacy to discuss sensitive gynecological issues without family members present, but instead of receiving basic professionalism and respect for my confidentiality, I was met with passive-aggressive comments. As an adult seeking treatment, wanting a private conversation with a gynecologist should not be seen as strange or bothersome. Instead of fostering a safe space for dialogue, the response left me feeling dismissed and uncomfortable. The consultation itself was quite underwhelming. There was no meaningful dialogue, my concerns weren't adequately addressed, and the appointment felt rushed—just being told to drink water, having a scan, and then being sent off. A scan doesn’t substitute for a thorough consultation, especially when discussing personal matters. The disregard for patient autonomy, privacy, and professional behavior was alarming. Healthcare providers, especially in gynecology, must recognize the importance of confidentiality and create an environment where patients can speak freely. I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and patient-focused care.

Poor management and service at hospital

Located in the heart of Colombo, this hospital is poorly managed. Even at 7 PM, the parking lot was completely full. There was only one spot available in front of the hospital, but the security staff wouldn’t allow anyone to enter in order to admit patients first and sort out parking later. Despite paying for the services, the staff seemed unaware of how to communicate with patients and didn't show any concern for their well-being, focusing instead on trivial matters. I received a message that the channeling doctor had arrived, but I had to wait for a long time. It felt like we had to comply with their orders after paying for their services, rather than receiving proper guidance. This was an urgent appointment for a pressing issue, and I can confidently say it will be my first and last visit here.
