Beautiful lakeside hotel with great service

We had an excellent experience at this newly constructed hotel. Its location right by the lake is stunning and provides a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, immaculate, and tastefully designed, giving everything a modern and upscale feel. What really impressed us was the professionalism of both the reception staff and the kitchen team — they were attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. It's a stylish and high-quality place that we would happily return to.

Nice location but needs improvements

Getting to the hotel is a challenge due to the poor road conditions, but the setting is lovely with a view of the lake. The rooms are roomy and equipped with hot water and air conditioning, although we did find three cockroaches in our room. We found the dinner choices to be quite limited, which led us to eat out instead. Breakfast, on the other hand, offered very small portions and few options. As someone who doesn't eat much, it was just barely sufficient for me, but it would likely leave an average person still hungry. I'd give the breakfast a 1 out of 5. The most disappointing moment was at the restaurant during breakfast on 09/02/2026 around 9:30 a.m. when someone from the kitchen was loudly berating the staff. It felt incredibly unprofessional. We could hear every word despite being seated far from the kitchen, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable enough that I couldn't finish my meal. While I recognize that staff need direction, shouting at them in front of guests during breakfast is completely unacceptable. This review is intended for the hotel owner or manager as there is a serious need for improvement in staff management and professionalism!

Disappointing stay with room issues

Our time at Wewa Addara Hotel left much to be desired. Right from the start, getting to the hotel was a challenge due to a bumpy, muddy road that made it tough for even a tuk-tuk to navigate. When we arrived, we were first put in a Budget Room that was cramped and poorly laid out. The steep steps to the bed were daunting, there was hardly any space for our luggage, and we quickly spotted ants and spiders. When it started raining, we noticed a leak near the room’s entrance. To top it off, we found a large cockroach in the bathroom. The bathroom window also overlooked the hotel kitchen, and during dinner, the strong smell of fried food wafted in, making its way to the sleeping area. After raising our concerns, the night manager kindly upgraded us to a Deluxe Room, which was significantly better—more spacious, clean, and without any issues. However, the following day, things took a turn when we tried to sort out the cost of the upgrade. We received different prices, and the staff insisted they were adhering to the rate on the booking site, which wasn’t accurate as the actual online price for our stay was much lower. The lack of clarity, the fluctuating prices, and poor communication were incredibly frustrating, ultimately prompting us to cancel our reservation and leave. This experience fell short of our expectations, especially since we had stayed at other places with lower prices and lesser expectations that far exceeded this one.

Lovely lakeside hotel experience

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel after climbing Sigiriya! It's nestled in a serene lakeside setting, providing a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The food is delicious too! However, the highlight was the staff! During our stay on February 13-14, they surprised us with a lovely basket of brownies and a Valentine's Day card for my husband and me! ♥️♥️♥️

Fantastic stay by the lake

This place was incredible! We spent two nights there and I really wish we could have stayed a third. The location by the lake is stunning. The service was nearly perfect, and our room was quite lovely. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was enjoyable.

Great nature retreat in Sigiriya

This is a fantastic spot to relax and soak in the natural surroundings in Sigiriya. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay, exploring the lake, savoring the food, and appreciating the atmosphere. The only drawback was the access road to the hotel. It’s not well-maintained, so our car had a tough time for about 10-15 minutes before we reached the main road.

Charming lakeside hotel experience

I absolutely loved my time here. 💖 Nestled in a tranquil spot by a lovely lake, away from traffic noise, this hotel was just what we needed. The hotel boasts high standards with spacious, clean, and airy rooms. The staff are fantastic; they strike the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine care, paying close attention to detail. Every staff member was exceptional and incredibly efficient. This place exudes comfort without being flashy; it feels personal yet elegant. My only recommendation would be to add a selection of wines to the menu to further enhance the experience of celebrating in such a beautiful setting. They took my suggestion seriously and showed a real willingness to listen to their guests. Well done! 👏

Great stay with stunning views

We had a fantastic experience! The service was top-notch, and the two receptionists were particularly friendly and helpful. The venue itself is stunning — the sunset view over the lake is simply gorgeous. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, which made our visit even more pleasant. While the buffet was good, I believe adding a few more options to both the morning and night selections would enhance it further. Definitely recommended! 😊

The food was remarkable—beautifully presented, flavorful, and clearly made with great care. Each meal was a pleasure. Our room was kept to a very high standard—spotlessly clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with great attention to detail. It offered the ideal setting to relax and unwind. A special shout-out to the General Manager, who was incredibly friendly and professional. Their presence and commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction were evident in every part of the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking quality, comfort, and exceptional service. It is genuinely worth the price, and we eagerly anticipate returning in the future!
