Basic stay with some issues

The room was quite basic. I noticed that the electrical setup in the bathroom seemed unsafe. Additionally, the door lock required a lot of strength to operate. During the day, the staff's English was limited, but it improved in the evening. The location is nice, although getting a tuktuk to the bus stand costs at least 700 rupees. The food at the "restaurant" was disappointing, with more batter than fish and overly salty. However, the next morning, the manager was very accommodating and helpful.

Great stay with minor suggestions

I recently stopped by Matale and stayed at Welawwa Matale while on a solo motorcycle journey. It’s a fantastic place to unwind, featuring a serene atmosphere, welcoming service, and stunning views. They do have a chef and a menu, but I think it would be great to see more vegetarian choices added. It's budget-friendly and a nice spot for gatherings among friends. They have huts available for those looking to host liquor parties. It's conveniently located near town. One small suggestion would be to add a water heater in the washroom to enhance comfort for guests, especially during the colder months.

Great service and tasty food

Mr. Sarath was always there to assist us, and he was incredibly polite. The food was delightful; we ordered Chicken Rice and a Full omelette, which was plenty for two people. Their prices are quite reasonable, and the rooms are kept tidy and clean. I arrived around 1 AM, and they were prepared for us, which I truly appreciate. The room amenities were satisfactory, and the A/C functioned well. The only drawback was the location, which is a bit tricky to find but offers a peaceful escape into nature, away from the city bustle.

We encountered a problem during checkout when our family was told we hadn't paid, which stemmed from an issue with trip.com. I had to call the company to resolve the matter. Additionally, at 2am, we were disturbed by the hosts playing loud music outside our window. To top it off, we were only provided with one very thin sheet, which was inadequate for the nighttime chill.
