    Quiet stay with helpful staff

    We spent two nights here during our trip to Sri Lanka. It was very peaceful during our stay. The room was beautiful and clean, and the staff were quite accommodating. The location is just a short walk of under 5 minutes to the beach, which was fantastic. However, reaching the Main Street where most restaurants are located took about 20 minutes, depending on your destination. The pool was pleasant but somewhat dirty, and the loungers were quite hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to unwind. We used the laundry service, which charged 1000 rupees per kg—this was pricier compared to other places we've stayed, but the cost is determined by the laundry service, not the hotel itself.

    Great staff, but rooms need improvement

    We checked in but unfortunately left right away. The staff deserves a 5-star rating for their efforts to assist us, but the hotel didn't meet our expectations. The bathroom was not clean, and the garden could use some attention. From the family room, we had a view of an old construction site, and people working there could see into our room. Considering the price, it wasn't worth the stay; it would be more reasonable if it were cheaper. The location is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful, but both the rooms and facilities need upgrades. This place has a lot of potential.

    Warm and welcoming stay

    We spent three nights here and were greeted with such warmth that we truly felt at home. 😊 The location is ideal, and while the rooms are slightly small, they are clean. However, I would suggest updating the towels and bedsheets for a fresher appearance. The service is outstanding—more than a 10! The staff provided great recommendations, were always up for a chat, and every morning they served delicious food. We had a wonderful time and really appreciate everything. We highly recommend it! 💯

    Pleasant stay in a great location

    We spent five nights at the hotel during our trip to Sri Lanka. It’s situated in a peaceful and convenient area, close to the beach and the main street lined with restaurants and shops. The garden surrounding the hotel is lovely—green and well-maintained. I highly recommend the breakfast; it was tasty and varied each day. The staff were fantastic—kind, helpful, and friendly. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, the beds are large and comfortable. My only suggestion for the hotel staff would be to change the sheets and towels more regularly.

    I had a fantastic stay at Urchin, with incredibly attentive service from Chamod and the rest of the team. The Sri Lankan cuisine was so impressive that I even thanked the chef personally!

    Comfortable stay with friendly staff

    The room is nicely air-conditioned, the bathroom is beautiful, and the bed is clean. The staff here are fantastic and incredibly helpful. As we were leaving, we ran into the owner, who generously offered us some handpicked guavas and pointed out a little bird's nest in a bush.

    Delightful stay with attentive service

    My friend and I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. From the seamless check-in to their attentive service throughout our time there, it was clear they genuinely care about their guests. What really stands out is their attention to detail and warm hospitality. It's obvious they aim for excellence in every part of their service.

    Charming but has some issues

    Getting to this place can be tricky since it's located in narrow alleys, making it a bit difficult to reach by car, but the atmosphere is quite serene. Unfortunately, the beds were not comfortable, and barking dogs outside kept us awake all night (though that's not the hotel's fault). The bathroom is spacious, but it doesn't dry properly, resulting in puddles after showers and attracting mosquitoes, which is somewhat unpleasant. The pool seemed a bit unclean, and the loungers were in need of some attention. Additionally, the shower by the pool was out of order.
