The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The location is quite central. While the rooms are a bit dated and dusty, the low price compensated for it. Unfortunately, the WiFi was not functioning during my stay.

I highly recommend UK Inn! We took the Yaal Nila train to Jaffna, which was expected to arrive around 5:15 am. Most places we contacted stated that early check-in wasn't possible, with the earliest time being 12 pm. However, UK Inn was very accommodating and happy to help with an early check-in. We stayed in a standard room equipped with AC, which included a TV, a double bed, a dresser, a table with a chair, and a clothes rack. The room had a sink, while the bathroom was separate but very clean. The building is new and still expanding, but there are plenty of rooms available. It's just a 5-minute drive from the train station (20 minutes on foot), and there's a Cargills Food City right below the hotel. It's conveniently located within walking distance to various eateries, including Malayan Cafe, which is about a 7-minute walk away. I would definitely recommend this place and would return on my next visit to Jaffna. The rooms are really dark when the lights are off, allowing for a great sleep even during the day. Honestly, I had the best 12-hour sleep of my life! It's also very budget-friendly, and both the rooms and bathrooms are kept very clean.

Aside from the layout that might confuse guests a bit (lol) when trying to find their room, I think your hotel is more than just nice—it's really "cozy" if I had to sum it up. :-)

Old Blighty might not recognize the UK Inn as a true British establishment, but they would likely still give it a nod of approval, rating it 3.5 stars. On the plus side, the hotel offers features like a TV, spacious rooms, a refrigerator, affordable rates, good security, and comfortable mattresses. However, there are some downsides. The room had dust everywhere and a strange cream-colored goo was leaking through the concrete on the first floor corridor. I dealt with a swarm of mosquitoes in my room for the first day and night until the electric repellent kicked in. The bathroom had issues as well— the toilet seat was unattached, there was an unpleasant smell, and the floor was wet due to the air conditioning drain hose. Initially, the cable TV box was faulty, but it was replaced after a couple of hours of hassle, only for the cable connection to completely fail right before check-out. There weren't enough power outlets in the room, but the staff did provide two power strips to help. Unfortunately, the main circuit board kept tripping. For me, I would consider coming back, but you might want to think twice depending on what you value in a stay.

Checking in took longer than expected. We had made a reservation through Trip for a large room with air conditioning, but they initially only acknowledged the booking. This caused a delay of about half an hour. The room itself was functional and had air conditioning, but it wasn't very clean.

This was the worst experience I've ever had. The room was dirty and dusty, the bedsheets hadn't been cleaned properly, the bathroom was in poor condition, and I even found a plaster with blood on it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The service here is decent, but I found the room to be quite dirty. There was a significant amount of dust and spider webs, plus an overwhelming number of mosquitoes. The trash can hadn’t been emptied and had some liquid in it, creating a really unpleasant smell. The bedsheets and pillowcases looked old and were not clean. Although there’s a refrigerator in the room, it hasn’t been maintained for a while and is unusable. The bathroom also left much to be desired — there was a bucket filled with mosquito larvae. On a brighter note, the cost is quite fair at 4500 rupees for a single room with AC. This rate includes hot water, a mirror, an iron box, a TV, and the refrigerator.

The staff here are really friendly, and you get great value for your money. Laundry services are available at a reasonable price, and the hotel is conveniently located next to Cargills supermarket and a chemist. I appreciated the cleanliness, comfort, and outstanding service. The room and attached bathroom were spotless, the bed felt as comfortable as one in a five-star hotel, and the TV was a nice touch. Despite the low cost, the quality far surpassed my expectations. I want to give a special shout-out to Dilu, a staff member who was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful during my stay. He provided guidance on places to visit in Jaffna and demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
