Great food, but lacking warmth

This restaurant offers excellent food and impressive creations—hats off to the kitchen! The cuisine is truly top-notch. That said, the ambiance leaves much to be desired; it often feels cold and unwelcoming. The outdoor seating can be windy and uncomfortable, despite being the prime spots, as it’s situated on the 36th floor. Inside, the air conditioning can feel excessive, making it somewhat chilly, even though the decor is visually appealing. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere isn’t conducive to lingering. On the bright side, the staff is friendly and attentive, enhancing the experience. During our visit, the place was not very crowded.

Excellent food and service

The food was great, and I experienced some of the best service from the staff. The panoramic view of Colombo is fantastic. This place is definitely a must-visit.

Fantastic Seafood with a View

This is an excellent seafood restaurant located on the 37th floor of the ITC Ratnadipa, offering stunning city views. Our server, Adi, was exceptional and very attentive. I strongly recommend this place, particularly for guests staying at the hotel.

Beautiful Views and Delicious Desserts

The Islander offers breathtaking views and outstanding desserts, making it a perfect spot for some peaceful moments. We sampled a variety of desserts along with coffee—my husband’s cappuccino didn’t hit the mark, and my iced coffee was unfortunately disrupted by a stray fly. However, the staff promptly replaced my drink and offered an apology, which was appreciated. I do think it would be helpful to have a non-cloth coaster for better drink coverage. Nevertheless, we highly recommend the Spiced Almond Cake and Pandan Crème Brûlée!

Perfect dining experience in Dubai

Our final evening before heading back to Dubai was made unforgettable at this restaurant. Having dined in many outstanding hotels and restaurants worldwide, I can confidently say this experience is truly exceptional. From the atmosphere to the flawless service, every aspect was perfect. A special shoutout to Adithya, who genuinely cared for us throughout the night. His recommendations were right on the mark and enhanced our entire meal. Outstanding Service at The Islander

We had an extraordinary experience at The Islander located in ITC Colombo, greatly enhanced by the exceptional service provided by Adithya. While we had chosen a table for two based on its great location, he kindly arranged for a third seat, personally carrying and setting it up himself so all three of us could enjoy the stunning view from 37 floors above the city. This thoughtful act really set the mood for the evening. Adithya's attentiveness was remarkable throughout the night — from offering thoughtful menu suggestions and checking for allergies, to creating a custom cocktail just for my wife. What made his service stand out was the genuine nature of his assistance: instead of merely pointing me in the right direction, he walked me to the washroom, and at the end of our meal, he escorted us to the lift lobby and ensured our elevator was called. On a quiet Sunday evening, Adithya enriched our experience with friendly conversation, while skillfully balancing attentiveness with the right amount of privacy, making us feel both comfortable and respected. It's clear that Adithya has an exceptional level of professionalism and emotional awareness. He is undoubtedly a rising talent, and ITC Colombo is lucky to have him on their team. I wish him all the best in what looks to be a fantastic career. A heartfelt thank you to The Islander for a truly delightful evening.
