    Delicious food with stunning presentation

The food was absolutely delightful. Chef Jospeh Fernando crafted the string hoppers with flowers, resulting in a lovely pink and blue hue. This was undoubtedly the best curry we experienced in Sri Lanka! Highly recommended.

The Hideout features very friendly staff. We had a smooth check-in process and were promptly presented with a hot meal. Our room was basic yet tidy and quite inviting. We enjoyed some relaxing time in the pool.

Great food and service by the pool

We had a wonderful experience with a fantastic team and a beautiful pool. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the food was lovely and delicious. The location was perfect for us. If you're in need of cold beer, just let them know! They catered to our group of eight beautifully. Thanks to Darryl, Sarah, and The Reeves.

    Great food and relaxing nature

I had an amazing three-day stay with my girlfriend. The room was decent, but the food was the highlight. The natural surroundings made for a very calming atmosphere. The staff was always attentive to our needs.

Lovely stay in the Tree House

Our family of four, consisting of two adults and two kids, enjoyed our time in the roomy Tree House. The terrace was a highlight – ideal for unwinding and taking in the scenic views of the rice fields. The hotel has a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, with a ...

    Beautiful location with helpful staff

This place is stunning, and the pool is fantastic. Nestled away among some plantations, it offers a wonderfully tranquil setting. What I appreciated most was the staff; they were incredibly helpful. They let me use their computer when I needed it, took care of all my arrangements, and even sent my charger, which I had forgotten, to my next hotel. I would definitely recommend this place.

Mixed Experience at a Good Location

We spent three nights here and had a combination of good and not-so-good experiences. To start, the staff is fantastic. The reception team was very welcoming, and the breakfast and dinner crew were incredibly friendly and attentive during our entire stay. Overall, the service felt warm and inviting. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. It featured fresh fruit, a rice and egg dish made to order, yogurt, toast with butter and jam, as well as coffee, tea, milk, and one fruit juice served buffet-style. In the evenings, there’s a menu to choose from with options ranging from small snacks to local dishes. Beer and wine are offered, and the drink selection is reasonably sized. The property itself is quite nice and well-kept. We particularly appreciated the small private terrace outside our bungalow. In the evenings, with proper mosquito repellent, it was a delightful spot to unwind. Now, regarding the room: We stayed in a bungalow-style unit which was adequately sized with reasonably comfortable beds. However, there was a noticeable musty smell when we first arrived. After airing it out, we found that the odor seemed to originate from the sink in the small tea and coffee area. Since there was no way to close the drain, smells came up from the pipe. We managed to cover it with a cup, which helped a bit. Unfortunately, the bathroom was the weakest aspect of the room. Cleanliness and maintenance did not meet expectations. The shower curtain needs replacing, the windows and sills require proper cleaning, and the fixtures are old and somewhat unstable. The toilet seat was thin, slightly loose, and discolored. There was no adequate space to store toiletries; if you bring your own shampoo or personal items, you'll struggle to find a place for them other than a tiny soap dish attached to the shower rail. Here are our ratings: • Bathroom: 3 out of 10 • Coffee and sink area: 5 out of 10 • Main sleeping area: 6 out of 10 The sofa had noticeable stains, and storage options in the room were limited. One side of the bed didn’t have a bedside table or light, which was inconvenient. The WiFi worked but could be more reliable and stronger, rating it around 6 to 7 out of 10. In terms of location, the hotel is about two kilometers from the village start. Tuk-tuks are available, but the road can be bumpy, and drivers are sometimes reluctant to venture out there, making travel a bit longer. Overall, since a vacation's focus isn't just the hotel room, our stay was acceptable. However, we wouldn’t choose this specific room again. It’s possible that other rooms might be better, as the hotel has received higher ratings overall. Compared to our previous stay in Sri Lanka, this one felt noticeably more basic.

    Charming treehouse experience in Sigirya

This spot in Sigirya is absolutely delightful. The staff and the owner are incredibly friendly and attentive, remembering my vegan dietary needs at every meal. The food was fantastic, especially the coconut roti, which is the best I’ve ever tasted! The views are unparalleled. Although the room was somewhat small and the power did occasionally cut out, that’s to be expected in a treehouse setting! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

    Charming stay with attentive staff

The area is quiet and serene, featuring a beautiful garden with a pool. However, the standout aspect of this hotel is definitely its wonderful staff. We faced an issue in our villa when the electrical power blew out two of our charging blocks, but they promptly cleaned another room for us and helped transport all our luggage. The rooms are spacious, equipped with netting and air conditioning, plus they include tea and coffee facilities along with bottled water. The restaurant offered good value for money and had a lovely view of the gardens. There's also an elevated lookout platform that overlooks a picturesque paddy field, adding to the peaceful ambiance. While the rooms could benefit from some updates, overall, it was a delightful experience.
