    Unequal Treatment at Lunch

We stopped by hoping for a late lunch, but the waitress informed us that she'd need to confirm if the kitchen was still open. We found ourselves waiting at the entrance, which I thought was reasonable. However, a couple came in right after us, was seated, and received their menus without delay. When we asked the manager why we hadn't been seated, he couldn't provide an explanation. We decided to go to Chambers instead, where they treat all customers equally, regardless of skin tone.

    Historic hotel with some drawbacks

The staff were friendly, but there seemed to be a lot of them just standing around. This hotel is quite old and has a lot of character. We booked the top-rated room, but it lacked a toilet roll holder, so we had to use rolls left behind by previous guests. It felt rather average overall. Additionally, there was no coffee provided in the room. While the hotel's vintage charm is evident, it didn't really appeal to me. The pool area had only two lounges, and despite spending two hours there, no one approached us to see if we wanted drinks. Breakfast was enjoyable, but I had to ask twice for pool towels, even though there were six staff members hanging around.

    Disappointing Portion Sizes

My partner and I had a rather disappointing experience. We wanted to share some dishes and asked our waiter, Umesha, if we could order their soup along with another dish. He advised against it, mentioning that those were starters, and suggested we get a plate of kebab to share, insisting it would be sufficient. When our food arrived, we were shocked by the tiny portion. It was the smallest serving I’ve ever encountered. We felt misled and ended up ordering additional food. When we inquired about another dish from the menu (which was pictured), he assured us it was a larger portion, but it turned out to be just as small as the first. Ultimately, we ended up spending much more than we had intended. It felt like the waiter wasn’t honest or helpful, leading us to poor choices. Overall, I was very unhappy with the service and the experience. Spending 4898.30 rupees for one dish that should be a main course was frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend going here.

    Luxurious stay at Fort Printers

We just spent four wonderful days at Fort Printers and really wished we could have extended our stay. The decor is stunning, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious, with the cocktails being even better. The coffee was fantastic as well, which is a strong compliment coming from two Melburnians. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, thinking of everything to ensure we were well taken care of. It's a great location in the heart of the fort, making it easy to explore on foot. We can't wait to come back!

    Charming architecture and comfortable stay

The architecture of the building and its thoughtful renovation, which preserved historical elements, really impressed us. The rooms were not only attractive but also quite cozy. We enjoyed a diverse breakfast menu with a la carte options. However, we opted not to dine there in the evening. Service was …

    Unexpected stop turned disappointing

Caution! Our trip to the restaurant wasn’t intended; we stumbled upon it when a sudden downpour drove us to find cover. Regrettably, this unplanned stop was quite disappointing.

Great evening in Galle despite booking issues

Although we were unable to secure a room at the last minute due to being fully booked, we still enjoyed one of our best evenings in Galle at this place.
