Recently, I saw hotel staff being quite unkind to a five-year-old who had brought sand into the pool. Considering the pool is located right on the beach, I imagine this happens often. The so-called pool caretaker was quite rude in handling the situation.

This place is situated in a fantastic spot right on a wide sandy beach. We spent our time in the Casa Tartaruga building, which is newly constructed. The rooms are beautiful—spacious with a large balcony—and they offer a much higher standard of construction and finish compared to what you usually find in Sri Lanka. The hot water was also lovely.
