    Charming guesthouse with friendly hosts

    This guesthouse offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere thanks to its incredibly friendly and considerate hosts. While some other accommodations in the area may provide more luxury, they also come with higher prices and often push their food and services more aggressively. The distance to the beach is quite manageable. It's worth noting that there are very few places located directly on the beach, which sets this spot apart from places like Tangalle. The fact that locals gather here daily to enjoy themselves speaks volumes about the vibe! Enjoy!

    Pleasant stay with friendly hosts

    Sunil and his family are wonderful, and we really appreciated our time here. The rooms were clean, and Sunil's wife is an excellent cook. We spent four nights at this location, and if you're interested, he can arrange some short trips around Matara.

    Charming couple and great curries

    The couple running this place is delightful, and they serve the best vegetarian curries! The accommodations are quite basic with a narrow balcony, but we enjoyed hot water at a fantastic price. We were on the upper floor, and the pillows were absolutely wonderful to sleep on! There …

    Enjoyable Stay at Sunil's Guest House

    We initially planned to stay at Sunil's Guest House for just a day or two, but we ended up extending our stay to four days. We had a wonderful time there. Sunil and Ureka are among the kindest people we've encountered. It's easy to get to any beach by bus or tuk-tuk. If you have any issues, just ask Sunil; he knows how to help.

    Friendly owners and great location

    The highlight of the hotel is definitely the warm and accommodating owner, Sunil, along with his family! Meeting them was a true delight. The hotel is situated in a peaceful area near the beach, offering a clean room complete with a mosquito net, and the food is quite tasty.

    Friendly stay with helpful staff

    Sunil and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our time there really enjoyable. The rooms were basic but tidy, providing all the essentials. Sunil was very accommodating. It’s just a short 3-minute walk to the beach. We also appreciated the good breakfast and the welcoming atmosphere with other guests during our stay. Thank you once again! 😊 Daniel & Bianka

    Welcoming Stay Near the Beach

    Sunil and his family were incredibly friendly and spoke English flawlessly! The rooms were tidy and came with ceiling fans, which were definitely appreciated! It offered great value for the price and was conveniently located near the beach. Additionally, there were plenty of outdoor seating areas.

    Great stay at Sunil's place

    We chose to stay at Sunil's place based on a recommendation from Lonely Planet, and we were quite pleased! Even with our last-minute reservation, Sunil was very accommodating and even arranged for someone to pick us up from the beach at night since we didn’t have transportation.

    Charming stay in Matara

    This is a fantastic place to stay, located in the beautiful region of Matara. It's surrounded by plenty of shade and peaceful backstreets, away from the constant noise of buses and trucks. The beach is just a short walk away, and there are numerous small shops nearby, along with a large supermarket/department store within easy walking distance. My room was tidy and comfortable, equipped with netting. However, the standout feature is the incredible team led by Sunil and his wife. They were very friendly, warm, and helpful, even going out of their way to assist me in getting a new screen protector for my phone. They can also arrange tourist trips to more distant locations. I really wished I could have stayed longer.
