    Great mid-range stay with lovely touches

    Serein Beach Hotel was perfect for my needs. It’s a cozy mid-range option with nice amenities like a fridge and a kettle for those must-have cups of tea. The location was fantastic—almost at the end of the road—yet still conveniently near restaurants and the town, while being away from the busiest areas. I rented a bicycle, which made getting around really easy. The pool was great, and my early morning walks along the stunning, serene beach were a highlight; I encountered just a few other walkers and local fishermen starting their day. Although swimming requires a walk of about 800 meters, the journey there added to the experience. Breakfast was exceptional: fresh, tasty, and plentiful. I particularly enjoyed the curd and tropical fruit. Nipuna and Abye made me feel like family, and their warmth truly enhanced my stay. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who generously offered me a drink and was incredibly welcoming. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I would definitely love to come back.

    Charming getaway with great service

    A delightful escape. The breakfast was outstanding, and the staff provided exceptional service—always attentive but never intrusive. There’s a fantastic range of seating options, including sunbeds, sofas, and beanbags, along with a lovely pool and excellent air conditioning (if you choose to upgrade to a deluxe room!). I would come back in a heartbeat—thank you!

    Charming beachside hotel experience

    This is a wonderful hotel featuring 8 rooms located right on the tranquil Tangalle beach. The breakfast is top-notch, offering European options or Sri Lankan dishes upon request. The staff will even deliver coffee to your room and make excellent cocktails. After enjoying a morning walk on the beach, you can take a dip in the ocean or cool off in the beautiful pool. The rooms come with mosquito nets, a refrigerator, and a kettle, plus there’s hot water available in the shower. Overall, it was a delightful stay!

    Fantastic hotel experience in Tangalle

    We initially intended to stay in Tangalle for just two days, but we ended up extending our visit to three. This amazing hotel was the reason behind our change of plans. Everything from the rooms and breakfast to the pool, the beach right beside the hotel, the staff, and the owners was exceptional! A heartfelt thank you for the wonderful experience and the bottle of wine for my birthday! :)

    Lovely stay with great service

    We had an amazing experience at Serein. The staff and host went above and beyond to make us feel completely at ease. Although we initially booked for three nights, we ended up extending our stay to six, and it was definitely worth it. Breakfast was fantastic, with the freedom to request anything we wanted. Our room was very comfortable and offered a stunning sea view—the soothing sound of the waves helped us drift off to sleep. There were monkeys playing around, which added to the allure, but the location was still conveniently close to the city, creating a perfect blend. I highly recommend this place!

    Fantastic family-friendly hotel experience

    Our time at the hotel was truly wonderful. The environment was incredibly welcoming for families, making us feel right at home. The service was excellent—consistently friendly, attentive, and cheerful. Breakfasts were tasty, diverse, and made with great care. A special mention goes to the manager, who was always on hand to assist and prioritize the comfort of the guests. I wholeheartedly recommend it—it was simply amazing!

    Wonderful Stay at Serein Beach Hotel

    We had a fantastic time at Serein Beach Hotel. After going through some earlier reviews, we honestly can't understand their concerns, as our experience was simply delightful. Every staff member was incredible—friendly, attentive, and genuinely nice. They were always ready to assist us. When we requested extra pillows, they were brought to us right away with a smile. Whatever we needed was taken care of promptly and graciously. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers excellent value. Listening to the waves as we fell asleep each night was absolutely heavenly. The air conditioning functioned perfectly (again, I’m confused about any complaints on that front) and kept our room pleasantly cool. The pool area is gorgeous, and the loungers were incredibly comfortable—honestly superior to those at the other five hotels we visited during our trip. Breakfast was outstanding. Each morning, they provided a generous spread with plenty of options—a definite highlight of our stay. It’s important to mention that you can’t swim directly in front of the hotel due to strong waves, which is common for Tangalle. However, if you walk a little bit to the left or right, you’ll find calmer spots that are perfect for a swim. We truly have no complaints and would love to return. Highly recommend this hotel.
