Our host, Amila, was wonderful. He exceeded our expectations in assisting us with everything we required during our stay. The house itself is lovely and very peaceful, tucked away from the road.

This place is stunning—super clean and modern. There's a communal area with tables if you need to work, plus a fantastic shared kitchen. It's quiet, and you can't hear any road noise. The owner was incredibly friendly and assisted me with organizing various things. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the Hiriketiya area!

We had an incredible experience staying with this wonderful family. The location is convenient, just off the main road, making it easy to reach shops and banks, and it's simple to catch a tuk-tuk. The beach is only a 3-minute walk away, and it's a quick 5-minute tuk-tuk ride to the next beach. Our room was spotless, and they kindly let us hang our wet clothes on their lines, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was delightful, featuring some of the best coffee we've had in Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend this place!

The rooms are great, available in various sizes, all well-equipped. The bathrooms are outstanding — featuring excellent water pressure and consistently hot water, the best we've encountered so far. Keep in mind that this is a homestay, meaning the host and his parents reside in the same house, so you will naturally run into them. However, the host was incredibly friendly, genuinely eager to assist, and always up for a chat, which made our stay quite enjoyable. The location is a bit inconvenient for walking to Dickwella Beach, as you have to cross a busy road and navigate through an unattractive alley. I suggest renting a scooter through the accommodation. This makes it easy to explore the local area as well as spots like Silent Beach, Tangalle, and more. In summary, it was a very comfortable stay with fantastic amenities and welcoming hospitality.

This place is a real gem in the hustle and bustle of Dickwella! It's very tidy and cozy, featuring a lovely garden and a friendly, attractive dog. Amila is exceptionally kind and courteous, whipping up delicious and generous breakfasts. Being close to Hiriketiya Beach made it the ideal spot for our stay. Thank you, Amila, for your wonderful hospitality!

Our experience was quite disappointing. We started on a bad note with the shower having no hot water and barely any pressure. The prices felt excessive. We were charged LKR 7,500 ($24) for a single laundry load that could fit in one standard washing machine. When we were asked by a staff member the night before what time we wanted breakfast, we assumed it was included. To our surprise, two hours after eating, we received a message asking us to pay separately. For what was honestly the most underwhelming breakfast during our three-week journey in Sri Lanka, we were charged LKR 2,000 — food we would value at no more than LKR 300. After expressing our concerns, we pointed out the lack of clarity. Unfortunately, the host's response to our complaint was dismissive; instead of addressing it seriously, they laughed it off, as shown in the attached screenshots. After some back and forth, they ultimately waived the breakfast charge, but this is not the level of service I would recommend.

The warmth and friendliness of Amila and his family truly stand out at this place. They create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The location is fantastic; it’s peaceful and allows for complete relaxation. The room is lovely and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is quite substantial. Amila was always there to assist us, whether we needed a motorcycle or laundry service. We highly recommend staying here. Amila, his family, and Ayu will hold a special place in our hearts. We spent four nights here with friends, sharing two rooms, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. - The property is sleek and modern, equipped with AC. Both the front and back yards are private, which adds a nice touch. - Its location is quite good, right in the center of Dikwella and just a short walk to Dikwella Beach. It’s also tucked away enough that street noise isn’t a problem. - Getting a tuktuk is easy; for instance, it’s only a 5-minute ride to Hiriketiya Beach, though be cautious of drivers who might try to overcharge. - The hosts are wonderful and live on-site, contributing to a safe and communal atmosphere. Plus, they have the cutest dog! The rooms varied in size; one was spacious and modern with a king-sized bed, while the other felt a bit cramped with a double bed squeezed into a corner, making it more suitable for a single occupant. We didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t speak to that. I’d give it 5 stars and recommend it, but I’d suggest advertising the smaller room as more appropriate for solo travelers. I had an unforgettable stay at Secret House Guest House in Dickwella during my three-week trip in Sri Lanka. This place truly stood out. The family that runs the guest house is amazing—so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely attentive. They really make an effort to ensure you feel at home, and it’s evident in every little detail. The guest house itself is lovely and serene, featuring well-appointed rooms and air conditioning that actually functions properly (which is quite rare!). Everything was tidy, comfortable, and just effortless—one of the few places where everything operates as it should. They even assisted me with my laundry and successfully got stains out of my shirt, which I greatly appreciated. And I can’t forget to mention Ayu the dog, who is simply adorable and adds to the overall charm of the place. All in all, this was definitely one of my favorite stays in Sri Lanka, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the south coast. I’ll surely be returning! 🙌
