Disappointing experience at Panora
I feel compelled to share the disappointing experience my mum and I had at Panora. After her cataract surgery, she mentioned that her eyesight still wasn't clear. We followed the hospital's instructions and waited one week, then two weeks, as the surgery was still recent. When we returned for her scheduled monthly checkup, the doctor stated that she likely needs glasses, despite her concerns about her vision. Just three days after the checkup, my mum reported tears coming from her eye. We immediately contacted the hospital and sought to see any available doctor. Although a doctor was present, we couldn't see them due to the crowd. Instead, a resident doctor checked my mum's eye and discovered a blister inside the eyelid. I couldn't believe it—shouldn't this have been identified before the surgery? We did everything required on our end, yet they had one job: to assess the eye's health. This feels like serious negligence on both the doctor's and the hospital's part. To make matters worse, we weren't given a proper appointment for the following day. One of the staff members informed us, "We cannot give you an appointment because there are 20 other patients who booked a consultation." I wanted to avoid a scene, but that response infuriated me. My mum had surgery at this hospital; they should provide her with the attention she needs given her situation. It's completely unacceptable to say, "You have to wait until the doctor sees all patients, so we cannot give you an exact time." Patients shouldn't be disregarded after surgery; they need to take responsibility and show some empathy!
