    Disappointing dining experience

I was very let down. I ordered the Prawn Nasi Goreng, but the prawns had a strong, off-putting smell that made me think they were either old or not fresh. They were tough to eat, and I couldn’t finish my meal. This restaurant used to be much better, but this experience was just unacceptable.

    Consistently Disappointing Experience

I visited for lunch today, September 1st, and I've been in Wattala for over five years. Unfortunately, they let me down once again. It's clear to me that management needs to make some changes. The waitstaff were quite bothersome, constantly hovering around us. The location is nice, but the prices are significantly higher than the quality of food served. There's a strong possibility that a competitor could thrive in this area.

    Peaceful dining at Pan Restaurant

We recently dined at Pan Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the most serene and relaxing meals we've experienced in a long time. The atmosphere was incredibly tranquil – almost like we had the place to ourselves – since there were no other patrons during our visit. If you appreciate calm, crowd-free environments to unwind and enjoy a meal, this spot is definitely worth a visit. We tried their chicken kottu, and it arrived surprisingly quickly. No lengthy waits, which was a big advantage. The portion was ample, the kottu was freshly prepared, and the flavor was absolutely on point – rich in taste with just the right mix of spice and texture. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff ensured we were comfortable, and the overall ambiance made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Prices are fair too – great value for the quality and service provided. One of the standout features of Pan Restaurant is their varied menu, which offers a range of cuisines, ensuring there's something for everyone. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. Whether you're seeking a quiet place for a meaningful conversation or just want to savor a nice meal away from the usual restaurant hustle, Pan Restaurant is an excellent option.

    Disappointing Fried Rice Experience

We ordered the special fried rice and the three rice and curry. Unfortunately, the fried rice was not enjoyable and had a strong, off-putting pork odor. Overall, it didn't seem to justify the cost.

    Disappointing lunch at Pan Restaurant

On June 8th, my wife and I had lunch at Pan Restaurant, and sadly, it was quite a letdown. We ordered the Samba Chicken Biriyani (Rs. 1,100), Beef Rice & Curry (Rs. 1,200), Ginger Beer (Rs. 255), and Sprite (Rs. 255). Including a 10% service charge, our total bill was Rs. 3,091. The Chicken Biriyani was the biggest disappointment. While it was presented as biriyani, it tasted more like plain yellow rice with chicken, lacking the aroma, spices, and flavor typically found in a good biriyani. I would rate it a 5/10 at best. The Beef Rice & Curry was even worse. The portion size was decent, but the dish had virtually no flavor. The beef was okay to eat, yet there were only about 5-6 small pieces. Considering the taste and quality, I believe this dish was worth around Rs. 500-550, not Rs. 1,200. The drinks were priced at Rs. 255 each, and we also paid a service charge of Rs. 281. On a positive note, the waiter who served us was courteous and professional, and I have no issues with the service from the staff. I don't mind paying higher prices if the food quality is up to par. Unfortunately, in this instance, the food did not justify the cost. I hope Pan Restaurant can enhance its food quality and consistency because customers deserve better value for their money. This review represents our honest experience as paying customers, and I've included the bill for transparency.
