We stayed at Oak Ray Elephant Lake Resort from January 19 to January 20, 2026, on a half board plan while heading towards Sigiriya. During our journey, we stopped by Dambulla Cave Temple and enjoyed the scenic views of Kandalama Lake, which enhanced our trip. Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly by a friendly and charming lady. They offered us a welcome drink and cold towels, which felt refreshing after the drive. Our room was located on the first floor, featuring views of the swimming pool and garden. The swimming pool is spacious, very clean, and ideal for families. My child had a great time there, and we enjoyed a cold beer by the pool, which was quite relaxing. The entire property offers a serene and beautiful atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding. The food was decent, but there's definitely room for improvement, particularly in adding more variety to the dinner and breakfast menus. Nevertheless, the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive, always striving to serve the guests well. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay, and I would recommend this resort, especially for families and those visiting Dambulla and Sigiriya.

The gardens are stunning. We had a lovely view of the pool from our spacious balcony. While the pool did have quite a bit of algae, the water was pleasantly warm, reminiscent of a bath.

Oak Ray Elephant Lake Hotel provides cozy rooms equipped with good amenities and top-notch service. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the buffet meals are tasty, and the setting is lovely, tranquil, and soothing. It's an excellent spot for a serene getaway. Strongly recommended!

Our group of 44 recently spent two days at Oakray Elephant Lake Hotel in Habarana, and unfortunately, our experience fell short. The dinners we were served on both nights were not up to par. Additionally, the maintenance of our rooms left much to be desired. Basic cleanliness was lacking, as the same bed linens were used for two days without change. This was particularly disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for our stay. Overall, the value we received did not match the amount we spent. We sincerely hope the hotel management takes this feedback to heart and improves their housekeeping and service for future guests.

The team was incredibly courteous, attentive, and always available to help, ensuring that our group's needs were met promptly. The overall ambiance, facilities, and quality of service surpassed our expectations. I also want to thank Mr. Ashoka Wijesinghe, the Sales & Marketing Manager, for his outstanding support during the reservation process. His professionalism, quick communication, and coordination played a significant role in making our group trip well-organized and stress-free. I highly recommend this place for group stays — we can't wait to come back!

This hotel is quite lovely, featuring a beautiful pool and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are tidy and cozy. That said, my check-in experience was quite unpleasant, thanks to one of the receptionists (not Mayanthi). Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and disrespectful, leaving me feeling unwelcome as a guest. In summary, while the hotel amenities were fantastic, the reception service fell short.

This is a stunning and romantic spot featuring a fantastic swimming pool. Waking up to the sound of birds is truly enchanting, and you can really take in the natural beauty around you. Sigiriya is nearby, along with opportunities for safari. Thank you very much!
