I had a terrible experience with Dambadiva Tour. The facilities they provide for adults traveling with them are quite poor. The food is just bearable, but the resting places have no mattresses—only a foam layer on metallic beds. They claim that the rooms come with hot water and air conditioning, but that’s not the case. I cannot recommend Lotus services to anyone.

The food and accommodations were extremely poor. Service was lacking, as even basic items like bottled water were not provided. The pillows and bed sheets were unclean, and I honestly can't say anything positive about this place. I wouldn't recommend it to those who care about their health or need decent facilities—there are none at all. When we raised our concerns, the guides and staff just laughed at us and made snide remarks. If you’re considering this place, it's crucial to verify the hotels and their locations personally from India. According to their written policies, they claim to refund money if they fail to provide the promised facilities and locations for your tour. Make sure to check the daily food, AC, and hot water availability. I was traveling with my nine-year-old son, and there was no care for children whatsoever. Older people may say it’s nice because they haven’t experienced better options.

The customer service here is outstanding. The male staff are consistently polite and ready to assist. They show great flexibility, even offering refunds without much fuss. I highly recommend this place for anyone on a Buddhist pilgrimage.

Overall, the service was just okay, but if the accommodations could improve a bit, this trip might deserve a 4-star rating. On the positive side, the trip was well-organized and managed to cover all the key places within a limited timeframe. The staff was friendly, and Sumith was particularly polite and helpful, providing excellent service. The local staff, including Sujit, Shyam, Surendar, Dinesh, and Chotu, were also very supportive. Some of the hotels, like Deluxe Inn Agra, Lotus Residency Bodhgaya, and Hotel Mansarover Nepal, were clean, spacious, and offered hot water. The food was enjoyable and catered to Sri Lankan tastes. We flew with Air India, a budget airline that had minimal facilities but was manageable. However, there were some negatives. A few hotels were quite dirty and not up to acceptable standards, lacking hot water, and featuring dirty bedsheets. Some rooms even had rats! Additionally, several hotels did not have elevators. The Ashok hotel in Sravasti had broken fan lights in the washrooms, which allowed visibility into the bathrooms. Lastly, there was no proper shopping; we only had access to street bazaar shopping and did not see any shopping malls during the trip.

My parents and in-laws just returned from a Dambadiva tour with this company, and they had an amazing time. The food, accommodations, buses, and overall attention to detail were outstanding. Mr. Wijerathna, the owner, even joined the group, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this tour, especially since the cost was very reasonable. A definite 10/10!
