Charming family hosts. Enjoyed a tasty meal. The large room had a fantastic shower view from the top floor. If you're interested in swimming, you can request access to a lovely pool at the nearby Riviera for a reasonable charge.

The owner is one of the kindest people we've encountered during our travels in Sri Lanka! We stayed at his villa, which is just a 2-minute stroll to the beach, and it was among the most affordable places we've found. He also arranged a friendly driver for us to the city and assisted with bus connections to our next stops.

A lovely and tranquil spot to unwind! We stayed in a spacious room on the second floor, complete with 360° windows and a generator. There's a kitchen and a large fridge at our disposal. We enjoyed watching the coconuts grow and the colibris flying around.

I want to start by highlighting the excellent service we experienced. The owner was very friendly and patiently addressed all our needs. My family and I stayed for three days, and the rooms were a good value for the price. The location is also very close to Killay beach.

The rooms were unclean, and things like the power outlet were broken. The shower water was so hot that you could cook pasta in it, and the fan was incredibly loud, making it impossible to get any sleep. The beds were extremely hard—definitely not suitable even for a drunken pig. Throughout the night, I was disturbed by various noises, such as a neighbor vomiting, barking dogs, and another neighbor snoring. Plus, the windows wouldn’t close. Overall, it was the worst night I’ve had in Sri Lanka. It was noisy, it smelled bad, it was dirty, the place resembled a construction site, there were insects in the bathroom, and I couldn't get a wink of sleep all night.

I recently spent some time at Kunam Beach Guest House, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The owner’s demeanor was very uninviting—they seemed more interested in making money than in ensuring guests enjoyed their stay. Their attitude felt unwelcoming, suggesting that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. Although the location has its appeal, the overall experience was overshadowed by the owner’s lack of hospitality. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

The exterior may not impress, but the rooms are quite decent. There's a nice balcony and good WiFi. Likely the best rates you'll find in the area.

As two women visiting Batticaloa for the first time, we felt warmly welcomed by Kunam, who treated us like family. The room was clean and equipped with both a fan and A/C, offering a simple yet comfortable stay. A highlight of our experience was being able to select any fish we wanted from the nearby fresh fish market, adding a personal touch to our meals thanks to Kunam's wife.
