I really wish this place could be found all over Sri Lanka. The staff are incredibly friendly, the prices are fair, and the food is absolutely delicious. I can't recommend it enough. We visited for both breakfast and dinner.

Kalaivani Vilas is an excellent restaurant celebrated for its tasty food and outstanding service. The meals are consistently fresh, full of flavor, and attractively presented, whether you’re enjoying South Indian dishes, biryani, or snacks. The staff are welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, creating a pleasant environment suitable for families and friends alike. The prices are fair given the quality you receive. This is undoubtedly one of the top dining spots in the area — highly recommended!

They have a nice selection of vegetarian dishes. I sampled the plain dosa, paper dosa, and ulndu wadai. The food is just average, and it could be better if they served fresh chutney. The staff is very friendly, though.

During our overnight stay in Kalmunai, we dined here three times—once for lunch, once for dinner, and again for breakfast the following morning. We enjoyed rice and curry for lunch, dosas for dinner, and iddlys with paratha and dhal for breakfast. Everything was incredibly tasty, freshly made, and completely authentic. Our waiter was also very friendly and welcoming. I can't recommend this spot enough; it was a fantastic find that we were thrilled to discover by chance.
