This place is truly a hidden gem. We stopped by for lunch en route to the airport and enjoyed some excellent seafood. The prices were reasonable, and the view of the sea was lovely! To top it off, the staff were very friendly, making the experience a perfect 10/10!

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely meal at Janitest. We were treated to fresh calamari, prawns, and fish that had been caught by local fishermen right before we ordered. The owner was very welcoming and prepared us a fantastic meal! The location couldn't be better, right by the beach. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Wadduwa.

We were really let down by our experience here. We chose this restaurant based on its positive reviews, hoping for a lovely dinner with a beach view, but the food was quite poor. The rice had a sour taste, and the fries seemed to have been cooked in very old oil, making them taste awful. The small salad and fish were just okay; we ate them because we were hungry and don’t like wasting food. The restaurant itself feels outdated and lacks warmth, and the party music was quite annoying. It doesn’t resemble the pictures anymore. It’s unfortunate because it could be so much better. The staff was friendly, so I give one star for them, but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I can't understand why anyone would choose another place in this area. It's simply amazing! Situated right on the beach with a stunning ocean view, the lounge music sets the perfect vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh jumbo prawns and the catch of the day! Jani is not just an excellent chef but also a wonderful host. I absolutely recommend it!

Words can't fully capture this place. As a seafood and fish lover, I'm always eager to try it wherever I go, and the seafood and fish here were the finest I've ever had. Accompanying your meal are a sauce, salad, and rice, all of which are just as delightful as the seafood and fish. The ambiance is fantastic, enhanced by the warm hospitality of the owner and his family, along with a stunning ocean view and a beach to relax on. It's wise to call a day in advance to let them know your arrival time and to find out what seafood or fish will be available for you the next day, as it varies. If you're in the area, this is an absolute must-visit. I wouldn't hesitate to travel long distances for this exceptional food, so I was thrilled to discover it's quite close to where we were staying.

Our visit to this restaurant left us feeling let down. After a 40-minute wait, the food we received—fish & chips and fried chicken with rice—was simply unacceptable. The chicken consisted mostly of bone and fat, and it had an odd, fishy flavor. The fish was dry, tough, and completely lacked seasoning, arriving without any sauce. Neither the food nor the environment resembled the photos we had seen. The atmosphere felt barren and neglected, far from what was advertised. There is a clear need for significant improvements in the quality of the food, service, and the general presentation of the restaurant.

The food is fresh, beautifully presented, and cooked flawlessly. The service is outstanding; nothing is too much trouble for the staff. If they don’t have something, they will go out of their way to get it for you. The atmosphere is tranquil and pleasant, with well-cared-for dogs and cows sharing the beach with you. Don’t worry—the wildlife doesn’t bother you at all. This place has the best food and the best people; it's a must-visit. Thank you, Sanirest. We’ll be back soon!

The view is simply breathtaking! Dining by the shore while watching the sunset feels surreal. The seafood was fresh and came with salad and rice. We spent 8,100 rupees for a seafood plate, which is around €24.30. Two drinks were priced at 400 rupees each, totaling 800 rupees (about €2.40), with most of the bill going towards the seafood. I wholeheartedly recommend the pineapple juice here – it’s the best we've had on the island, and we've tried it in five different spots. The only downside was the number of flies, which could be quite bothersome while enjoying our meal.
