This place has truly been a pleasant surprise. Usually, when you find a restaurant in the budget-friendly range, you might expect the service to be lacking compared to more upscale spots. The stay offers a warm, homely atmosphere. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable about local attractions and how to reach them. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept, and the balcony provides an amazing view. I highly recommend it.

We planned this getaway during the pandemic but had to cancel on our booked day because of potential lockdowns. The owner/manager was incredibly kind and let us postpone our reservation. We were able to reschedule for December.

I believe this is one of the best places I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The staff is incredibly accommodating, relaxed, and friendly. The rooms offer excellent value; they’re comfy and come with breakfast included, which they serve whenever you wake up—no strict schedule. If you need lunch or dinner, they provide their own service for a fee. The water pressure is impressive, and the hot water deserves a five-star rating on its own. You can enjoy a lovely mountain view from your room, which also has a small balcony, plus there’s another balcony in the common area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I had an amazing experience at Hotel Mount Castle in Haton! The service was exceptional, with staff who were both friendly and attentive. The food was delightful, featuring a wonderful selection of fresh, tasty dishes. The hotel offers fantastic value for the price, with clean and well-kept rooms that were spacious and cozy. The rooms and bathrooms were not particularly clean, and the bedsheets along with the duvet were dirty. On the plus side, it’s budget-friendly. Most of the male staff members were friendly and accommodating, but one female staff member was quite unfriendly and didn’t even offer a smile. We booked a bed and breakfast stay, but the breakfast was identical on both mornings. Additionally, the road leading to the property was in terrible condition, quite a distance from town, and felt unsafe. Overall, I cannot recommend this place.

Our family enjoyed a two-night stay at Hotel Mount Castle in Hatton, and it was quite comfortable. The hotel is conveniently situated within a brief stroll of less than 10 minutes from both Hatton Railway Station and the town centre, making it easy to explore the area.
