Pleasant stay with minor breakfast issue

This new hotel is quite lovely, featuring clean and spacious rooms along with a nice pool area. Its location is excellent—close to the beach while still being private and tranquil. Breakfast is made fresh, offering both Sri Lankan and Western choices. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. However, there was a safety concern during breakfast due to a foreign object found in the food, which I hope will be addressed in the future. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.

Convenient hotel with friendly staff

This hotel is conveniently located on the main road, surrounded by numerous shops and restaurants. The beach is just a short walk away. The rooms were tidy and equipped with air conditioning, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful beach villa experience

We had a fantastic time at this beach villa. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-kept, featuring comfy beds and all the essential amenities. Room service was top-notch, and the staff, including the villa owners—a lovely husband and wife along with their children—were warm and welcoming. They were attentive and always ready to assist with a smile. The food and drinks were tasty, beautifully presented, and arrived promptly. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping everything tidy and fresh during our stay. The overall service, cleanliness, and hospitality surpassed our expectations. This villa truly offers excellent value for money and a memorable experience. I highly recommend it for couples, families, or anyone seeking a peaceful and luxurious retreat. We would definitely love to return!

Booking issues at Hiding Unawatuna

Upon arriving in Unawatuna for our stay at the Hiding Unawatuna, we were informed that they were fully booked, despite having made our reservation weeks in advance. The communication was lacking, as we received no prior notice or genuine apology. Now, we are left scrambling to find alternative accommodation on such short notice.

Great rooms but noise issues

The accommodations are quite charming with nice high ceilings and all the necessary amenities like good air conditioning, a fridge, a ceiling fan, and a lovely bathroom. The pool area is pleasant, but unfortunately, the sunbeds are all broken and uncomfortable, which forced us to head to the beach for relaxation—a real disappointment. The room was spotless upon our arrival, but the cleaning service during our stay was lacking; they changed the sheets and towels and put a toilet block in the bathroom, yet they never mopped or cleaned the sink or toilet throughout our seven-day stay. We checked in on a Friday afternoon and found the location to be pretty good. However, when we returned from an outing around 10 PM, there was extremely loud techno music coming from across the street. I thought it would stop after an hour, but it continued on a loop until after 3 AM, making it sound like the speaker was in my room. While I initially thought it wasn't the hotel's fault, I later discovered that the music is from a family-run business, so they must be aware of how it affects their guests. After the first night, the noise didn’t return until the following Friday. Breakfast was decent, but it was quite disorganized. We ended up waiting a long time, which wasn't a problem unless we had plans on certain days; this made us reconsider going down for breakfast to avoid being late, even though we arrived right when it was supposed to be served.

Disappointing Room Experience

We had booked a room that included a TV, but upon arrival, we were given a room without one. They assured us we would receive the correct room on the second day, yet it felt like they were avoiding us. After that, we just let it go. Over our four-day stay, our room was never cleaned, and our towels were never changed. The only bright spot was the friendly young man who served us breakfast.
