Disappointing Service at Grillo's
On March 14, my friends, family, and I visited Grillo’s at the Rosmead Place location and left feeling quite let down by the poor service from the staff. I want to emphasize that the food and drinks were excellent, so this isn't about the quality of what we ate. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity; only two tables were being used, and they had just a few people each. We ordered our drinks, appetizers, and main courses all at once, but the way they were served was very disorganized. Seven out of eight of us received our main dishes before our drinks and starters. One member of our group got her main dish long after the rest of us had finished. The point of dining together is to share the experience simultaneously, right? The drinks and starters trickled in randomly after most of the main courses were already served. When we asked the staff about this, they looked puzzled, as if this disarray was standard practice. We had to repeatedly remind them about missing items. At one point, a staff member even approached our table to confirm a dish that had yet to arrive. It felt like they were either seriously understaffed or prioritizing takeout orders over the needs of customers dining in. We’ve dined at Grillo’s before and had no complaints about the service, but this visit was truly disappointing and has made us hesitant to return. I hope they can improve their staff training and focus on serving in-house customers better.
