This resort is quite nice, featuring a wonderful team that is always eager to assist. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained. The restaurant serves delicious food—definitely try the mud crab; it's incredibly tasty! Additionally, the location is excellent, with the city's main attractions just a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride away.

Our family just wrapped up a cross-country trip across Sri Lanka, and Gatetrees Hotel in Jaffna was definitely the standout of our accommodations. The hotel is clean, modern, and beautifully decorated, with spacious rooms that made for a great home base during our four-day visit. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and truly a highlight of our journey. Additionally, the property is very well-kept and has a contemporary feel. Though we frequently visit Jaffna, this was our first experience staying at this resort. The place was spotless, and the service exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and they provided us with everything we requested in terms of food, all of which was delicious. Additionally, the location is very convenient for traveling. From the moment I made the reservation, I maintained excellent communication with the manager, Suganthy. Throughout our stay, the staff provided us with outstanding hospitality and were both friendly and helpful. We relished a truly authentic Jaffna-style breakfast that was delicious. The rooms and bathrooms were kept clean and equipped with good amenities. Room service was impressive as well. A special thanks to Sarathkumar, the other staff members, and the cooks.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by everything it offered. The room was quite spacious, providing a comfy and relaxing atmosphere throughout my visit. It was well-designed, giving ample space to chill and enjoy the comfort. However, I did notice some construction dust on the sofa, so a good vacuuming would be advisable. One standout feature of the property is its lovely garden. The well-maintained greenery creates a serene and refreshing vibe at the hotel. Spending time in the garden was incredibly soothing and added to the overall appeal of the place. The food was particularly noteworthy, as every meal was delicious. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with a lot of care. The variety and quality far surpassed my expectations, making dining at the hotel a real treat. In summary, the hotel strikes a great balance of comfort, natural beauty, and superb cuisine. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return in the future.

We recently spent some time at Gatetrees Resort and overall had a positive experience. Situated about 3 km from Jaffna city center, the location offers tranquility while still being conveniently reachable. The rooms are generally in good shape, cleanliness is satisfactory, and the shower has great water pressure and hot water. However, there was quite a bit of dust in the rooms that could be addressed. The food is incredibly delicious and well-prepared, though it is a bit on the pricey side. There are a few areas that need improvement. The resort should implement mosquito control in both guest rooms and common areas since there are numerous mosquitoes in the vicinity. We arrived at 4:20 AM and found no staff available to greet us. We had to call the Operations Manager, and there were no security personnel at the gate. Thankfully, another guest checking out helped us by opening the gate. It’s concerning that after 10 PM, there’s no staff on-site, particularly in case of an emergency, as assistance can take around 45 minutes to arrive after being called. On a brighter note, the kitchen and service staff are outstanding—very courteous and efficient. The Operations Manager (female) is exceptionally proactive, supportive, and always willing to assist. In summary, the resort has great potential and provides a lovely stay, but enhancing night-time staff presence and mosquito control would significantly improve the overall experience.

A friend invited us for lunch, which requires pre-booking and ideally ordering the menu ahead of time, especially the mud-crab curry. They prepared the meal specifically for us, showcasing a true home-cooked experience. We haven't tasted such comforting food in the last 40 years. Many restaurants in Jaffna are opening up, but they often follow a factory cooking model. The lunch was so delightful that we felt compelled to return for dinner as well, with the parody being prepared right in front of us. This place is an unsung hero in Jaffna. Wishing the whole team all the best. Team, we'll definitely be back.

This was our second visit, and it was just as amazing as the first! I highly recommend this resort to anyone. The owner and the staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are immaculate, and the garden is beautifully kept. Overall, a fantastic place to stay.

I had an outstanding experience during my recent visit to this hotel. Right from my arrival, the staff was incredibly welcoming, going the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. My room was spotless, stylish, and cozy. The breakfast options were both tasty and diverse. Plus, the location made it easy to explore the area. Overall, my stay was seamless, and I'm eager to come back. I would definitely give it five stars!
