    Great cliffside hotel experience

My wife and I spent two nights here and were really happy with our decision. The hotel is perched on a cliff, offering stunning ocean views. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and nice. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast that came with excellent coffee.

Charming cliffside hotel with ocean views

The hotel features three rooms that are essentially small suites. Our suite included a large king-size bed, a spacious sofa, and a lovely modern bathroom. Perched on a cliff, the hotel offers stunning views of the ocean.

    Outstanding Stay in Unawatuna

After spending two weeks in Sri Lanka and staying at several places, I can confidently say this is the best accommodation for a variety of reasons: 1) Location: It's situated at the southern end of Unawatuna Beach, near restaurants and nightlife. This allows for a peaceful atmosphere while still being able to catch a Tuktuk into town. 2) Rooms: The quality is top-notch for Sri Lanka. They are very clean and boast a modern design. Importantly, every room comes with its own bathroom, which is cleverly tucked away behind the bed. 3) Balcony: The balcony offers a stunning view directly overlooking the ocean and the bay of Unawatuna—absolutely breathtaking! 4) Breakfast: It was excellent, and the host was enthusiastic about serving us traditional Sri Lankan dishes. 5) Staff: The staff were incredibly friendly and dedicated to ensuring guests have the best experience possible. 6) Host: Chatu is an exceptional host. Even after we left Galle Henna Beach House, he was arranging activities for us throughout the country—truly remarkable! It was comforting to have someone trustworthy in Sri Lanka, especially for any potential emergencies. Overall, this was the best hotel experience I could have hoped for!

Lovely Spot for a Relaxing Getaway

This is a peaceful spot with delicious food and welcoming staff. The first-floor balcony offers a view of the beach and features your own little pool, which is created by a circle of stones you can enter via stairs from the beach house. The atmosphere here really makes you feel as if you're right in the middle of the ocean. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, each with its own bathroom. A perfect destination for a cozy and soothing retreat! 👍

    Great stay in Unawatuna

This is an incredible spot to stay in Unawatuna! The rooms are very tidy and comfortable, and the terrace overlooking the ocean is fantastic. It's just a short walk to the beach. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff is extremely helpful. We truly enjoyed our two-night stay here.

    Great stay with attentive service

I want to give a big thanks to the team at Galle Henna Beach House, especially Tharindu and Chathu, for making our stay enjoyable. Located right on the main road, the place offers a stunning view of the Indian Ocean and is about 3 kilometers from Unawatuna town, where you can find plenty of cafés and restaurants. The rooms are extremely clean and spacious, each opening onto a large common balcony shared with two other rooms, boasting a beautiful view. I had expected to encounter many mosquitoes after seeing pictures of the room, but surprisingly, there were none! Maybe it was just the season, but we were happy about it. As for the food, our booking included breakfast, and every morning Tharindu would set up a lovely spread. This included a fresh fruit cooler, toast with butter and marmalade, eggs cooked to order, cut fruits, and coffee or tea. One day, we requested a Sri Lankan meal, and they were happy to arrange it. For other meals, we ventured into Unawatuna and Galle to explore. The service was fantastic! The staff assisted us in renting a bike, kept the property and our room spotless, and offered some great local tips. They were very friendly and accommodating. Getting around was easy, with plenty of tuktuks right at the doorstep. There were also a few nice cafés and restaurants within walking distance, along with local buses available. As for beach access, while there's no direct access, the nearest beach is just a two-minute walk away and is typically not crowded. One thing to note: all the rooms are situated one level above the living and dining area, accessible via a stairway in the garden. This setup is not wheelchair accessible, so keep that in mind if it's a concern for you.

    Fantastic stay by the beach

Our time in Sri Lanka was truly memorable, largely thanks to this wonderful place. It looks just like the photos—an inviting beach house featuring three rooms on the first floor and a spacious shared balcony. The ground floor includes a kitchen, dining area, a large space for games or relaxation, and a garden. The ocean view is stunning, and you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Its location on the main road makes it convenient to access various restaurants, cafes, and a liquor shop. The breakfast was excellent. We spent two nights, and every morning offered something different. The staff were incredibly accommodating; when we had an early whale and dolphin safari scheduled at 6 am, they arranged breakfast for us at 5:30 am, which we greatly appreciated.

    Great location and comfortable stay

This place boasts a fantastic location with views of the waves crashing against the wall. It's just a short stroll to the nearby beach, although there's no direct access. The room is spacious and the bed is quite comfy. The breakfast is decent, but it would have been nice to have some rotti alongside the toast, eggs, and fruit.
