Charming stay at Fox Retreat, Jaffna
During my recent trip to Jaffna, I spent three nights at Fox Retreat. This place is genuinely a hidden gem! The change from the owner's home to a delightful boutique lodge is impressive. Tucked in the bustling town, the peaceful garden is among the best in Jaffna, offering a lovely escape to enjoy nature's beauty. A standout feature of Fox Retreat is its remarkable private art collection, showcasing works from notable artists like Keyts, Claessen, Bevan, and Ivon Pieris. The replicas of these masterpieces add a distinct flair to the environment, allowing guests to engage with rich cultural elements right at the lodge. The dining experience here is a treat. The food beautifully incorporates the rich local flavors and spices of Jaffna, yet manages to strike a perfect balance that isn’t too spicy, making it suitable for various tastes. Each dish showcases the local culinary tradition, making meals a true delight. Additionally, the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, always greeting guests with a smile and aiming to make your stay comfortable.
