Exceptional Service at Ceylon Furniture

I recently went to Ceylon Furniture Moratuwa to order an L-shaped sofa, and I must say, the service was exceptional. The branch manager, Mr. Thiwanka Peiris, helped us personally with the design selection and provided detailed explanations about the sofas. His assistance made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The showroom staff was also very friendly and supportive, which contributed to a wonderful experience. We had an urgent event at home and needed the sofa delivered quickly. Even with the short notice, Mr. Thiwanka assured us he would handle it, and he kept his promise—the delivery team got the sofa to us right on time. Mr. Thiwanka is genuinely a customer-focused professional, and having such a dedicated manager is a significant advantage for the company. A big thank you to Ceylon Furniture for the timely delivery, and to Mr. Thiwanka and the entire Moratuwa showroom team for their outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Disappointing Experience with Ceylon Furniture

I picked Ceylon Furniture for my home interior work based on a positive experience I had previously. Sadly, this time was quite disappointing. The main problem was a lack of communication between the interior designer and the workshop. As a result, several design details were not executed properly. Even after we highlighted these issues during a factory visit, we had to settle for compromises rather than receiving what we initially envisioned. The installation process was also poorly managed. There were issues with finishing, measurements, and overall coordination. Care was not taken during installation, leading to inconvenience and some damage. Although another team eventually came back to complete the corrective work, it took countless follow-ups on our part. They seldom updated us unless we reached out first. Overall, the service fell short of our expectations, particularly regarding communication and attention to detail. While I would recommend Ceylon Furniture for hardwood furniture due to their excellent craftsmanship and skilled carpenters, I cannot recommend them for modern home interiors. Their prices are reasonable. For the creation shown in the photos and a light strip for a hand railing, it cost about 600,000 LKR as of November 2025. However, the choices for materials and fabrics are limited. This project dragged on from November 2025 to March 2026, covering discussions on project implementation, 3D design, furniture manufacturing, installation, and correcting a few incorrect measurements. Advice for future customers: Be sure to double-check all measurements, designs, and materials at every stage, and keep a close eye on the work during production and installation to avoid similar problems.

Quality Furniture but Service Lacks

I recently checked out Ceylon Furniture at the Moratuwa Branch. They have a solid selection of high-quality furniture, and the items themselves are quite impressive. That said, the overall customer experience could use some work. There’s no elevator, and the staircase lacks a handrail, which can be both inconvenient and potentially unsafe for some visitors. The main issue was with the customer service. After choosing our furniture and heading down to the ground floor, the staff were around, but we had to wait quite a while just to complete the advance payment. This delay felt unnecessary and was quite frustrating. In summary, while the quality of the furniture is commendable, the service and basic facilities need enhancement to create a better experience for customers.
