Disappointing Scuba Diving Experience
The coral views were quite basic. Overall, I found Hikkaduwa to be just an average spot for scuba diving. There wasn't anything particularly impressive to see underwater; it was pretty basic overall.

What an amazing time! I went with four friends, and none of us had ever tried scuba diving before. The staff here were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They’re all absolute legends, but you especially want to get Shiran as your instructor—he’s truly exceptional. I highly recommend this place for anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Everyone should give this a shot!

This was our first time trying this activity. Honestly, in the hours leading up to entering the water, I felt a mix of excitement and panic. But the team was fantastic and managed everything seamlessly. They provided excellent training during the session, allowing us to fully enjoy our underwater adventure. It was a great opportunity to dive with them for the first time and explore the wonders beneath the Pasikudha sea. Shiran especially stood out; he was very organized and ensured we had an amazing time. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Hikkaduwa to dive with them again. It’s become an addiction! Thanks to Blue Deep Center for the wonderful service.

Our experience at this diving school was a bit of a mixed bag. Communication for booking was smooth, and our dive master along with the staff were great overall. The dives were decent, but nothing remarkable, and visibility was lacking. Still, we had a good time, which isn't the school's fault. On the downside, the equipment left much to be desired—leaky BCDs and regulators, difficult-to-breathe-through regulators, and deteriorating masks. We had to switch regulators several times and ended up using our octopus. Additionally, the behavior of the manager, who seemed to be directing the staff but wasn’t the owner, raised some concerns. He often had a bottle of Cointreau nearby and even smelled of alcohol in the morning. When we mentioned we lacked the wreck diving specialty and appropriate gear, his response was aggressive, insisting that as advanced and rescue divers, we should be able to dive into the wreck, implying we hadn’t received proper training. It’s possible that the equipment issues were just a sign of the end-of-season wear and tear, but I wouldn't feel comfortable diving with them if we were less experienced. As for our dive master and the crew on board, they truly deserve 5 stars for their efforts to make our dives enjoyable and accommodating.
