    Great hotel near Galle Fort

    This hotel near Galle Fort is quite impressive. It's well-located, making it easy to explore the lively areas of Galle. The rooms were clean and well-kept. The service was also good. I had the Sri Lankan-style breakfast, which was excellent.

    Fabulous Stay with Great Service

    I had a truly wonderful experience at Arches Fort! 💖 The staff were incredible, and Wasantha was especially kind — demonstrating fantastic customer service! The breakfast was delicious, and it definitely offered great value for the cost. I absolutely enjoyed my visit and would definitely return! 🌸✨

    Great service and good value

    Comfortable stay with friendly service

    Great stay in Galle Fort

    The staff here are absolutely wonderful, and the breakfast is outstanding. Our room was very clean and comfortable, featuring a large bed that made for a great night's sleep. Everyone was incredibly helpful, and I highly recommend staying here. It's also perfectly located for exploring Galle Fort. We definitely plan to come back!

    Disappointing tuna steak experience

    I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant and would recommend avoiding it. I ordered a grilled tuna steak with fries and ended up waiting about 45 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant, which set a negative tone. When my food finally arrived, I was shocked at the small portion size—it was more fitting for a child than a main course. The tuna itself was tough, dry, and clearly overcooked. To make things worse, the staff never even asked how I wanted the tuna cooked. Without a doubt, this was the worst tuna steak I've ever had in Sri Lanka. As an added annoyance, the smell of burnt oil wafting from the kitchen completely ruined what little appetite I had left. I can’t recommend this restaurant at all; they really need to think about changing the chef or just closing up shop and trying something else. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stay away!

    Disappointing Experience with Reservation

    I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly disappointing and embarrassing for me as a Sri Lankan. On 21/02/2026, I booked a room here for a couple of foreign friends visiting Sri Lanka. I paid 50% of the room fee in advance, eager to showcase the warmth and hospitality our country is known for. However, upon our arrival for check-in, the owner claimed there was no reservation in my name and denied having received any advance payment. I was taken aback. It wasn't until I presented the invoice and our WhatsApp chat that he acknowledged the payment was indeed made. Instead of giving us the room we had originally booked, he offered us a small room that was clearly not what we reserved, but still expected us to pay the same rate. We had no choice but to decline and ask for a refund. As a result of this situation, we found ourselves without accommodation on the very day we were supposed to check in. With major cricket events happening, almost every nearby place was fully booked. We spent hours searching for another option and ultimately had to stay far from our intended itinerary. To make matters worse, I had attempted to call the owner several times before our check-in date, but he never picked up. On the morning of check-in, he finally responded and told us to come, yet when we arrived, the room was simply unavailable. As a Sri Lankan hoping to share the beauty and hospitality of our country, this was incredibly embarrassing for me and left a poor first impression on my friends. I sincerely hope the owner can enhance their reservation management and honesty with customers, as situations like this tarnish not only their business but also the reputation of Sri Lankan hospitality.
